Baby Products Reviews of Philips AVENT iQ24 Steam SterilizerCustomer Review: Great Sterilizer, But Useless with Leaky Avent Bottles! Summary: 5 Stars
Customer review from the Amazon Vine™ Program (What's this?)
Unquestionably, this is a top-notch device, which is what I expect from a name like Philips. What I don't expect from Philips is a line of baby bottles that leak. I should have read the Amazon reviews on the Avent bottles before my wife and I bothered to get the sterilizer. Since non-Avent bottles do not fit well into this sterilizer, it is pretty much useless now that my wife and I have given up on Avent bottles. I would highly recommend that anybody considering this expensive sterilizer think twice. My wife and I have switched to Dr. Brown's bottles, and we are much happier. We bought a microwave sterilizer from Amazon ( The First Years Soothie Microwave Sterilizer) for a lot less money, and we are much happier.
Customer Review: Simple and Trouble Free. Summary: 5 Stars
Our newborn boy (now 6 weeks old) requires feeding about every 2 to 4 hours. That little task takes a lot of time and patience plus bottles, caps, nipples and other assorted items which are in continuous need of cleansing and care. We've set up a production line and the last item in the line is the Avent iQ 24 sterilizer.
The sterilizer is in operation off and on all day. It's simple to use and effective, as far as I can tell. It sure beats using the oven, that's for sure. It's been trouble free up to this point. I just put the stuff into the trays, add the water, turn it on and wait until the little electric tone tells me it's complete. What could be more simple? We are using the smaller bottles at present, but can easily switch to larger bottles as the baby grows. We use the sterilizer so steadily throughout the day that we've never used the long cycle. Our little baby-feeding cycle and production line seems to work fine. Now, if I could just get the feeding cycle extended to allow me adequate sleep.

Customer Review: Recommended sterilization method Summary: 4 Stars
Customer review from the Amazon Vine™ Program (What's this?)
Using the microwave or stove top to sterilize baby bottles is time consuming and unreliable. The Philips Avent iQ24 is quick - takes only 6 minutes - and simple - just push a button. No more waiting for water to boil. No more uncertainty if the sterilization is complete. This device takes care of everything in the most simple way possible. Highly efficient, super easy, very effective.
Yes, the price is high - nearly $100 - but the convenience and safety factor make it a worthwhile investment.
Only downsides are:
1) the cheap feel of the unit (but the plus is the light weight)
2) restrictions on bottle type and size.
Overall, if you don't mind the price, this is a great solution for bottle sterlization.
Customer Review: Doesn't seem to be what I thought it would be... Summary: 2 Stars
Customer review from the Amazon Vine™ Program (What's this?)
I thought I would be receiving the iQ24, but I received a large size plastic container type thing that goes in the microwave. It is pretty much like a big tupperware container that you put bottles in and then put in the microwave to sterilize. The directions say to wash the bottles with soapy water before using this contraption...so really I'm not sure why I'd need it. I don't have a dish washer so I guess it makes sure your bottles are sterlized properly, but if you use really hot water and give it a good wash then you wouldn't really need to go this extra step. But if you don't have the time or really need the bottles to be extra safe/clean, then I suppose giving them a quick wash and popping them in this container for the microwave could be helpful.
Customer Review: Saving Customers from a Bad Product Summary: 1 Stars
Hi, let me give my opinion from this product, i bought in november, i was preparing for be a first time pather, from the brand name, we bougth pacifiers, food warmer, all step niples, magic cups, bottle feedings 4 and 9 oz, avent via for milk storage, and a manual breast pump, my little babie girl was born in march, so yesterday, the sterilizer stop working, and dont start, the number screen totally death, i see the manual to search some trouble help, and nothing useful, i make a call to avent, and nothing to do, so im very dissapointment about the quality of this product, was very helpful, easy to use, easy to clean, and a good help for a first time parents, but it only works for 3 months thats really a waste of money, like i said i like the brand avent, so i buy today a avent microvawe sterilizer i think thats a better option, more cheap, and same benefits, the only problem its go to the kitchen to sterilize instead on the room. Avent you fail me with this product. Bad Really Bad.
