I was sent both this one and the microwave sterilizer.
I just had a baby boy 2 weeks back so one can imagine my excitement and nervousness.
I used the microwave sterilizer from avent again for 1 week and it was awesome.
Extremely convenient and easy.
ITs been a week now that i have received the iQ24 and I have been blown away by the features.
This one too sterilizes in no time and 6 minutes in mode 1 with 90 ml of water and keeps everything sterile for 7-8 hours
Mode 2 does the same with 200 ml of water keeping everything sterile for 24 hours.
I love the easy operation and the fact that it holds much more than the microwave sterilizer.
the only thing i didnt like is the fact that everything remains wet ..ofcourse its steam and it condenses..
So far , I love it. I also find it safer to use over the microwave sterilizer which i think can leech the plastic..especially not everything I have is bpa free.

Simply load, add water, press the button and let the Avent IQ24 Steriliser CLEAN! I prefer this one over the micorwave one.
Optional 6 hour mode sterilises in 6 minutes and contents are sterile for up to 6 hours if unopened.
Advanced digital display and sound alerts keep you informed throughout the sterilisation cycle.
Holds up to six 260 ml/9 oz Avent Bottles or two Philips Avent Breast Pumps and accessories.
The pause feature lets you remove items without interrupting the cycle giving you the freedom to make up the bottles when it suits you
It works quickly and continuously, keeping contents sterile for up to 24 hours.
I do not see need for 24 hr mode since mode 1 only takes 6 minutes and they stay clean for 6 hrs unopened.
Also add those pacifiers / binkies to be more germ free.
Comes in handy box with handle for ease of travel.
Remember does not come with bottles

What appealed to me about this sterilizer was the fact that it's electronic and does not require the use of the microwave.
I was blown away by the sophistication of this product! You simply let it do it's thing, and after six minutes the items are sterile...but get this, you don't have to quick grab them up after the six minutes...it works in intervals, repeating the cycles for up to 24hrs! That means the contents are kept sterile until your convenience. You can choose to pause and remove items needed and leave the rest until you're ready to deal with them. Helpful for a busy parent!
The sterilizer is very, very roomy and can also be used for breast pumps. I liked the fact that it did not come with bottles, this way if you choose a different brand or type (glass!), you're not paying for or getting something you won't use.
Expensive yes, but if you need the help of a sterilizer than the convenience makes it worthy!

The product makes sterilizing the gazillion bottles (who knew a newborn could go through so many bottles?) much much easier. Although the sterilizer limits the types and sizes of bottles you can fit in it, I'm generally a big fan of Avent bottles anyways, so I didn't mind. But while Avent finally gave in and started making BPA-free bottles and pacifiers (I always HATED the bs line they'd give about how their studies showed that BPA wasn't harmful if used properly, blah blah blah) I'm really disappointed that this product hasn't made the switch just yet. One only needs to look at the science (at least the studies NOT sponsored by a baby product or plastics company) to see that we are exposed to much too much BPA which has deleterious health affects. I'm hoping that Avent gets the message louder and clearer that they need to make ALL their products BPA free, including this otherwise wonderful sterilizer.Customer Review: Easy but costly

I like this sterilizer. I can put the items in and let it do its job and just come back when it alerts me. The alert tone is not so loud that it wakes my baby in the next room, but I can hear the pleasant tone.
Ways in which this sterilizer would be better: lower price and on/off switch. I don't think it's necessary to pay this much to create some steam, and it's annoying to have to completely unplug the cord (from the wall AND from the sterilizer according to the instructions) every time it's finished.
I do like having it very much, though, and it makes my life easier. Another nice feature is that it comes with a measuring cup which the microwave versions do not; that helps me a great deal, as our measuring cups are always in use.
I'm just glad I didn't have to pay the exorbitant cost!
