Customer Review: A great bottle!!!
Summary: 5 Stars

Avent was the only bottle that my son would take. I had bought and registerd for all Playtex bottles, so when my son refused the Playtex bottles I was stuck with a ton of them! Do yourself a favor and register for several different brands and see which brand your baby prefers. In my case, Avent was the bottle of choice. I have read several reviews stating that Avent bottles leak and I can't say that leaky bottles have ever been a problem. If you line the nipple and ring up and don't overtighten the ring, you will not have a leak. Many people also say that Avent bottles are more expensive. Compared with Playtex bottles, which is what MOST other people use, Avent would be cheaper in the long run because you have to buy liners for the Playtex bottles and that can add up. Plus, Avent lives up to what it says because my son has never had gas or colic. From my own experience, Avent has been wonderful and I would recommend them to any mother!!!!

Customer Review: Great for Breastfed Babies & Formula Ones Too!
Summary: 5 Stars

I am truly at a loss as to why people have had problems with these bottles. I ignored all of the negative online reviews figuring people must be doing something wrong. I was right, I think Avent bottles are great! We haven't had any problems with leaks and they've been used by many different people all of whom didn't have to read the directions in order to use the bottles properly. In fact, two people had never given a baby a bottle before and neither of them had any problems! We haven't had to use the 9 ounce bottles yet because our daughter is only 11 weeks old, so she doesn't take more than 4 ounces at a feeding on the occasions she is given a bottle. I really like the size of the 4 ounce bottles. The wide design of the Avent Naturally bottles is comfortable to hold. So far we have found that our daughter likes the #1 nipple best. It has the slowest flow and mimics the flow of breast milk best. I highly recommend these bottles.

Customer Review: Best on the market ... no leaks here!
Summary: 5 Stars

The Avent brand of bottles is an outstanding product. For those experiencing leaks, it is simply because the bottles are an interlocking system and must be screwed on properly. I have had no problems using these bottles, and yes I have experienced an occasional leak which I notice while I'm shaking the bottle because I have not screwed the cap on properly. These are well worth the price paid. I have tried both Dr. Brown's and Playtex VentAire and find the Avent products to be superior to both of these. Highly recommended by this mom!

Update March 06: one more great feature about the Avent bottles -- they sell a sippy cap that can replace the nipple, so your investment goes into toddlerhood with no need to buy additional sippy cups! They are leakproof, and come in a 2 pack just as the replacement nipples do. I have found them in Toys R Us, since my local Babies R Us does not carry them. Still a great product in my book!

Customer Review: not happy
Summary: 2 Stars

I bought a bunch of these bottle before I had my daughter, thinking these would be the best bottles as per mostly all my friends encourages me to get(no gassy babies with this bottle). However, i noticed after a few weeks of breastfeeding more often (i mixed fed my baby when she was born, 60% bottle/40% breastmilk, i was still on the stage of learning to breastfeed that's why she had a lot of bottle feeding that time) my daughter wouldn't latch on to the nipple (my milk wasn't enough, need the bottle occasionally), my daughter find the nipple too firm, it doesn't feel like my breast. I checked another brand(a lot softer nipple), and it works well for her. I am still hoping she'll be able to use them once she get older though (there's a bunch of them, it would be a big waste if she won't). So (...), buy a couple of different bottles and see which one your newborn prefers. Yes, babies are very picky about the nipples.

Customer Review: Good Bottle System (if assembled correctly)
Summary: 4 Stars

I like this bottle system very much. However, I must mention that it did not work well for my preemie daughter initially as the #1 nipple seemed to have too fast of a flow for her. She had a weak suckle and was a bit uncoordinated at first. After about a month, the lactation consultant I was going to suggested to switch from the playtex slow flow nipple back the Avent as it is a little more stiff so that she could work on strengthening her suckle more. At this time, she did much better with it and we like it much better than the Playtex Drop-Ins. We have not had issues with nipple confusion with the Avent, either.

You must be careful not to tighten the ring too much or it will make the vacuum seal faulty resulting in leaks. Just tighten it to feel slight resistance.

I gave this system four stars because I would like to see a slower flow nipple for the reasons I mentioned above.
