I love the wide neck of the Avent bottles. However, I have found them to leak occassionally. Eventually, I found a full proof way to not leak. You have to open and close the cap 3 times, then carefully close the cap very slowly and tightly. You would figure a huge company like avent would make bottles that don't leak. I would still choose these bottles over others, due to wide neck and only 2 piece valve to clean. It is easy to put formula into. It's also very easy to clean.Customer Review: Endlessly frustrating leakage issues.

I gave these bottles every benefit of the doubt, that the leakage problems were user (my) error. After many different approaches to closing the bottles, inserting the nipples, tightening the caps, warming the milk, etc... I decided the effort futile. These things leak and leak tremendously! Nothing is more infuriating than wasted breast milk, a soaking wet baby and parent, and a hungry infant waiting for replacement milk to be warmed. Avoid at all costs.Customer Review: Twist the cap!

We decided on the Avent brand because we did not want to purchase bottles made in China- these are made in England. But after investing over $100 in Avent bottles, we come to find that they leak! However, if you untwist the cap and twist back on enough times the bottle will stop leaking. Unfortunately, this is a pain in the rear when you have to give a newborn a bottle every 2 hours! However frustrating, we will be sticking with this brand of bottle.Customer Review: Really confused by all the negative reviews

I probably wouldn't have bought these bottles if I had read the reviews first. Anyhow, I just chose these bottles on a whim and I've had absolutely no problems at all! If these ever leak, it's only b/c I didn't screw the tops on tightly enough. They're easy to clean and clean well. I've had mine since January 2010 and once I wash and sterilize, they're crystal clear and squeaky clean. I freeze breastmilk in these too. No problems at all.Customer Review: avent bottles BPA free?

I ordered two 9 oz avent bottles, supposedly BPA free. I own smaller bottles that I purchased in a store that are BPA free for sure, the ones I ordered (9 oz) now, even though they were advertised as BPA free, are not. The packaging does not say BPA free and they are clear hard plastic, nothing like the softer more opaque bottles found in stores. Learned my lesson. Don't try to save money on baby.
