Customer Review: Very Happy with the Avent Bottles

I like the Avent bottles a lot, and my baby has no problem with them. He seems less gassy than he used to be using the Parents Choice bottles. My only complaint and reason for a 4 star review is the bottles do occasionally leak. It seems like if you don't get the nipples and lids screwed on just right you get leaks and there is no way to tell if you have them on just right until it is too late. I have found that if you twist the lids on very slowly and precisely you can avoid most of the leaks - but it just shouldn't be that difficult.Customer Review: They leak.

No matter what you do (screw them on with cap, just tight, very tight, voodoo chant etc. etc) these bottles leak-- and sometimes they leak a huge amount which REALLY stinks when your baby is sleepy and just about ready to be put down. I broke down and bought the born free (should be called born expensive) bottles, which do not leak but have the irritating and likely useless venting system. Wish I'd known about the cloudy avents vs. the honey colored avents-- maybe that's a better solution, but for us the born frees are working very well.Customer Review: These bottles are great!

This is my first Amazon review- and I have to say - these are great bottles! I was nervous after reading all the negative reviews about leaks, but having used them for over 9 months, they have leaked maybe twice, and that's probably because the top was not screwed on correctly. If you use them properly, they work great - you can hear the air entering the bottle as baby feeds - and way fewer parts then Dr. Browns. I honestly do not understand all the negative reviews! If you use them correctly they are the perfect baby bottle.Customer Review: Great Bottles! Perfect!

We have not had any problems with these bottles. No leaks, no problems cleaning, and the baby loves them. I was exclusively breastfeeding but I had to go back to work. She did not have a single problem with using the bottle and continuing to breastfeed. My bottles have never leaked and I use the honey colored ones. The nipples are great and I have used so far the newborn, 1, 2 and adjustable ones.
Great bottle! I am not sure why the others have had a problem but these bottles are great!

Despite reading several reviews of leaky bottles took a chance with the 8 oz bottles. They leak once in while; we check the nipple, make sure it fits snugly to the white ring, insert it to the bottle's groove and then try again. It is quite frustrating when the bottle leaks in the middle of the night. To check leaks, we shake the bottle and flip it over. Bottle feeding shouldn't be this complicated. We are planning to switch to the Medela 8oz Plastic bottles which can be found at Amazon or Target.
