Customer Review: Great stroller, but a little too heavy

I bought this with Peg Perego 2009 Primo Viaggio Corallo Car Seat. The base frame works beautifully with the car seat. The car seat can be adjusted to sit very high on the frame, so I can easily check on my baby and she can actually see me even when she was a couple weeks old and could not see very far. Now that she is older, she enjoys her view (she loves looking at the colorful vegetables when we are in the grocery store) and I think it helps her to take in more of the world by being able to see things other than people's calves.
The stroller itself is great too. The fabric feels very luxurious and the bassinet is so comfy that my daughter actually prefers it to her sliding bassinet at home. The ride is super smooth even on bumpy sidewalks and dirt roads, thanks to the air filled rear tires, and it is very easy to maneuver around sharp corners. The build is sturdy and feels like it can survive a category 5 hurricane, and the folding mechanism is very smooth - no struggling with stuck or squeaky hinges.
I actually researched into Bugaboo Cameleon before getting this stroller, and I am happy with the choice. This stroller comes with a cup holder, the boot, and car seat adapter, which I would have to purchase separately with Bugaboo. Also, Peg Perego makes its stroller in Italy, not China; I don't usually care much about the place of origin, but after all the headline news about lead paint in toys, this actually became a big plus.
My only complaint about this stroller is its weight. As other reviewers mentioned, this thing is quite heavy (30lb+). I mostly drive or use the subway with handicap access, so this is not a big problem for me, but you can forget about it if you need to take it up the stairs. Everything considered though, if I am going to prop my baby this high up, I would prefer a heavier base frame to make sure that it holds up well and the stroller/car seat will not topple.
I would have given it 4.5 stars if I could because of the heaviness, but all in all, this is such a great stroller, so between 4 and 5 stars, I gave it 5.
