We own at least one of every type of potty device around... the little seats, the seat adapters, the chairs that convert to step stools, etc... so we thought this would complete our potty accessory collection and be useful when we're on the go. We keep it stashed in the car and he uses it all the time. In fact, he wants to use the potty in every store and every restaurant, at least once. It's like le Tour de Potty, and I can't complain.
It's a nice size when folded, and it could be carried in a larger purse or a large coat pocket. It comes with an ordinary zippered plastic storage bag for carrying. I would be nice if it came with something fabric or a little more discreet.
The only "complaint" I have (and it's not really a complaint, because we've made it work despite this shortcoming) is that, as other reviewers have stated, the seat is made for a short bowl and not the elongated bowls on most toilets in public places. On an elongated bowl, it sits forward quite a bit and can be a challenge for a little boy's aim. Still, he wants to use it and it works.

I bought this for my 3 year old daughter. She refused to use any toilet without some kind of adapter seat on it. Which meant we could never leave the house. This was exactly what I was looking for-something portable that she would feel comfortable on. I wouldn't say it can fit in your purse (at least not one the size I carry!), but it doesn't take up too much room in a small diaper bag or back pack. I found an opaque microban bag with a zip top (it came with an old diaper bag I had) which I use to store this in. The seat comes with a heavy duty zip top bag that would work fine. Fortunatly, I read in other reviews that you need to place this seat as far to the front as possible to have it seated correctly. I've also found that it works best to pick your child up and sit her on the seat, instead of letting her try to slide on it herself. That seems to eliminated the concern over getting scraped up by the joints on the seat, or having the seat slide around on the toilet. If it weren't for the purchase of this potty seat, my three-year old daughter would have urinated in her pants while we were out in public without access to our own potty and potty seat at home. She simply is scared to death of public toilets. I tried multiple times to get her to simply use the toilet while we were out in various places without the seat because I didn't have it readily available (left it in the car). She simply refused to do so, turning into a wooden doll when I tried to place her on the seat (no bending of knees!). The minute I put the Primo folding seat on the potty, she agreed to use it and did. This has worked every single time. She even pulled it out of its packaging when it arrived and immediately tried to place it on her own on our toilet seat after removing the potty seat that we are already using for her. We bought this for our son after experiencing some dirty or too large public toilets.
My husband tried to use it for the first time yesterday and could not get it to fit the toilet at a restaurant and there was no way he could lift my son on to it without it slipping.
I thought I would give it a try today when we were out for breakfast. Typical toilet at Einstein's bagels.
I had a hard time getting it to stay, lifted my son up and placed him on the seat. He let out a horrible scream and I lifted him up and threw the seat cover to the floor.
He was bleeding.
THE PRIMO FOLDING POTTY SEAT CUT HIM ON HIS BEHIND!!!!!!
This product does not fit on toilets, the handles are blocking where the legs should go and instead of protecting him, it hurt him.
We will just bring disinfecting wipes from now on.
DO NOT BUY THIS!!!

I read all the other reviews when selecting this seat. I LOVE this seat. I actually just purchased 3 more (2 for friends and one spare to keep in my husbands car). Again, just place the lip of the seat over the front of any toilet seat. I actually didn't understand the confusion once I got my seat. I take this seat everywhere and it has worked on ALL toilets. I have had it for 6 months now and it still seems just as sturdy, and I have never worried about it cutting/pinching my daughters skin. Rest assured if you want a portable folding seat, this is the way to go. I keep mine in a ziplock freezer bag and change the bag as needed. And thank God for the handles...that way she isn't touching a dirty toilet. I thought I would have to buy those disposable toilet seat covers in addition but there was no need. I love this product!
