Customer Review: Does the job but some obvious flaws, would not recommend...
Summary: 2 Stars

My son got this as a gift for his 2nd birthday from his grandma. I picked it out because I loved the fact that it would transition with him. When I first got it I almost sent it back because I always hate when things do not arrive in the mfg. packaging. My husband assured me that it was no big deal. It also bothered me that the soft seat didn't seem to attach properly to the base. My son went potty on it right away, so I figured it was worth it. As a regular trainer chair it works great.

As a toilet seat cover and a step stool combo it's horrible. The seat cover does not have any way of attaching to the toilet seat, so it just slides around and scoots back every time he tries to get up there. To use the step stool feature you need to have some sort of anti slip pad underneath it because it does not come with that. Our wood floors cause it to slip away from the toilet. Imagine the seat cover slipping forward and the step stool slipping backwards when your child tries to get on it. It happened to my son and if I hadn't been standing two feet away he would have done a face plant right into the toilet. I caught him in time.

Needless to say I'm not impressed. If you have a more round toilet seat it might work better. Ours is more oval shaped. And if you have a less slick floor the step stool may be okay as well. I'm going to find something a little less scarey soon since my son now wants to go on the big potty.

Customer Review: My search is over!

I did a lot of looking and review-reading before buying a first potty for my 18 month old to 'test out'. The first choice was made hastily and ended up being a poorly designed seat with a flimsy lid and a bowl that was smaller than the seat itself (can you say mess potential!?) This item was our second and last potty seat! She design is excellent - the seat is stable and the bowl is large. The seat is made from a flexible material but not a padded vinyl seat that could rip. The 'pee guard' is built in so there's nothing to fall off or get lost there. The base is wide and has fold out handles that allow you to easily carry the whole thing with one hand. The unit instantly becomes a step stool by just closing the lid. Most models I've seen that boast a 3 or 4-in-1 design cannot be used as a potty seat and a stool without some sort of conversion hence it's not possible to pee then step up in the same visit. The seat fits well on the 'real' potty so when we get to that stage we have a sturdy seat. At this point my son is only really practicing sitting on the potty and getting familiar with the concepts but he happily plunks his cute little hiney on it and opens and closes the lid with ease. I really think we've found the ideal potty for every stage of training!

Customer Review: Great little potty.

It has been a several months since I have bought this product, so It's time to update this review. No Latch!
A few great things about this potty:
-It disassembles completely. The soft rubber padding comes off the seat, the lid comes off and the potty bowel catcher comes out. Which is AWESOME. It makes evert thing a million times easier to clean
-That soft rubber seat is really comfy for my daughter.
-It's just the right height. We have been potty training since she was 20 months old and she could get on the potty then (with a little help), and now several months later she can get on and off the potty easily. It's not too high, and it's not too low.

When I first wrote this review I grumbled about the lack of a latch as my daughter delights in taking th potty apart and putting it back together, in retropect though that was a bit silly of me. Any item they had put on it to latch it together would have added in a ton of work for the parents who use this product. I would recommend this to others parents who are potty training. It's a great little potty.

Customer Review: Nice sturdy seat - too many parts
Summary: 4 Stars

We're on our 6th potty seat, in search of the perfect potty chair (after 2 kids), and this is almost perfect. I love that the 'boy' part in front is molded in to the seat, unlike another we had with a detatchable spray stopper that was used mostly as a toy, and eventually was lost.

It also seems fairly comfy. I thought it would be a bit more cushiony than it is, but it's not bad. It's mainly just a thick rubbery type plastic for the cover, which detaches from the bottom white piece. ...and there in lies the problem. It regularly comes detatched from the white part with the handles, and pee gets in the grooves, and it becomes a pain to clean. It's also kind of frustrating to put back on, so usually I just lay it on there to save time.

Other positives: It's stable, doesn't move much when he's on it. It's great as a step stool, and it's definitely large enough for my tall toddler.

All in all, not bad, but I wish I could find a potty seat with fewer parts to mess with, since it gets used several times a day.

Customer Review: I was very disappointed
Summary: 2 Stars

I have never written a review on Amazon but after seeing all the positive reviews on this potty I felt I had to. I really don't like this potty at all. I bought it after reading all the great reviews but now I wish I hadn't without looking at it in a store first. My doctor told me to let my son play with the potty to get use to it and after take apart the tons o pieces so many times they stopped fitting back together well at all. Now the blue seat top barely sits on the potty. Its also uncomfortable for him and when he gets up his bottom has red marks from the rubber seat. Although i know a high splash guard can hurt a boy this one has NOTHING to keep the pee from going strait out and since my son hasn't gotten a hold of pointing it down yet it actually scares him and he thinks he is doing something wrong, There are also so many nooks and crannys keeping it clean is a pain. I will say as a step stool to reach the sink its perfect so I gave it two stars. I am going to go shopping for a new potty today in stores where I can see it first.
