Customer Review: keeps my baby happy!
Summary: 5 Stars

We purchased this a few weeks ago and so far are very happy with it. I actually think the seperate battery compartment is great because I keep rechargables in it and when they go dead I just pull up the toy and pull the battery compartment off and you don't have to take the whole toy off like with the older model. We had the older model for my other child but the water dried up in it and it was always a pain the change the batteries. I think this new one is alot better. I like that it has a volume control and the other noise it makes when the fish are going around actually helps put my baby to sleep. When we first put it on his crib he couldn't stop staring at it and making all kinds of cute baby sounds! He just loved it! I do suggest putting batteries that you can recharge though because it does eat up the batteries. As far as the light in it, I don't find it to be too bright, I think its very dim actually and my baby has no problem falling asleep to the bubble sounds and music. Overall, very very happy with another Fisher Price item!

Customer Review: What a disappointment!
Summary: 3 Stars

We received the original Ocean Wonders Aquarium as a shower present for our first child 3 years ago. He loves it. We cannot travel anywhere without it and it gets MUCH use. Unfortunately, all the travel seems to have resulted in some leakage and the bubbles no longer work. We picked up the new one and have been so disappointed in all aspects of it compared to the original. The new aquarium won't clip onto a big boy bed with rails (a bunk bed type set up). The machinery is NOISY and drowns out lower music and/or bubbles settings. The music selection has changed and is no longer the soothing sounds we were used to, but instead some sort of pop-style remix of the songs. The movement of the sea creatures is now on sticks which is a step backwards. About the only good thing is that the new set up allows you to change the battery without unhooking it (if it's on a crib). We have gone ahead and ordered an older one and are hopeful it lasts as long as our original. This one will be "backup" or will be used by baby #2 who debuts in July.

Customer Review: What Would I do Without This????
Summary: 5 Stars

For months I've been meaning to get on here and write this review and I've finally sat down to do it. I just feel obligated to share how priceless this aquarium has been for us. I can't say if every baby would feel the same, but my son LOVES this. My mother had one at her house when we can to visit, an older version, and we were hooked from the start. At this time my son was around 7 months old. I looked online for the older version but found only this one. The reviews made me a little nervous, especially about the batteries. Regardless, I ordered it and had no trouble at all with the installation or maintenance. It has several different songs and it easy for my now 16 month old to turn on and off. I hear it go on during the night and my husband and I laugh because there is no crying, he just listens to his "music" and goes back to bed. We use it all day and night during naps and sleeping and I have to replace the batteries every couple of months (but it's easy). Can't say enough good things about it!

Customer Review: Love/hate this aquarium
Summary: 3 Stars

I have a love/hate relationship with this aquarium. I love it on the sounds only setting, as the ocean noise puts my son right to sleep. I hate it on the motion/lights/sound setting, as the motor grinds really loudly as the fish move. I love that it attaches securely to the crib, but I hate that it's a pain in the butt to get it that way. I hate that if you happen to jiggle the battery pack just a tiny bit, the whole thing shuts off and is hard to line back up again. But I love the songs that it plays, we sing along with "Tell Me Why" as we're getting ready for bed.

Most important, though, is that my son likes it. He talks to the fish, spins the crab, and figured out pretty quickly to push the seashell to turn the music off. If they could just fix the quirks, it would be fantastic.

Oh, and I don't know if anyone else has this problem, but my son's room is right next to mine, and when I leave it on the ocean setting... I find I make a lot more trips to the bathroom.

Customer Review: Disappointed
Summary: 1 Stars

We purchased this aquarium for $30.00 in October of 2005 and it broke down last night, June 25th, 2006; not even a year after we purchased it.
My first complaint was that when we bought it, it is a HUGE hassle to attach it to the crib. So be forewarned about this, especially when the batteries run out. You will have to remove the box on the back to just replace the batteries! Time consuming to say the least.
My second complaint was the the lights are VERY bright which I found did not soothe my son, but made him squint.
Thirdly, after spending double what we did on the Fisher Price Peaceful Planet Aquarium (which lasted 6 years, by the way) this was a huge disappointment and would not recommend this product to anyone.
In the midst of trying to come out with the newest and greatest next toy, I feel manufacturers are missing the big picture. Refine the good ones they have and leave the junk behind.

I hope this helps someone to keep $30.00 in their wallet.
