Customer Review: This is the worst feeding bottle ever made.

I have been using it since I bough it three months ago and I can say with confidence that you do no want to buy this. The bottle is involved in three activities
1. Feeding my child
2. Removing the lid and washing the bottle
3. Pouring stuff in and closing it so that it can be used in feeding.
This bottle is horrible at all these things.
First, there is nothing wrong with the feeding part. If you get the following things right.
1. Securing it correctly (more later)
2. Holding it correct side down
3. Applying sufficient suction.
#2 is hard because the bottle does not give any clue to the child which way to hold it. And if you hold it the wrong way, the milk flows right over the air intake and sometime spills.
However, closing it is worse. First, the silicone nipple is contoured to fit into the cap. However, it is engineered to frustrate. The nipple wont fit into the cap unless you apply a lot of pressure and even then will only work if you do it in the right order (smaller oval first). This, btw, completely defeats the purpose of steam cleaning the nipple -- you have to manhandle it to get it in, thus contaminating it. Secondly, the thread on the cap (and the counter on the bottle) are extremely narrow. In practical terms, this means that you really have to put the cap at the exact right place to start the screw. It seems to fit in a absurdly large number of bad positions all of which leak.
I have used it almost everyday for three months (i don't like throwing anything even, even stuff that is poorly made) and I STILL cannot get it in. It is especially bad when it's 2am, the baby's crying, you are holding her and get the cap on and the milk ends up spilling all over her shirt. You then have to change it. This has happend twice, once last night. Other disasters include cap slipping off when my wife was trying to screw it in and milk spilling all over our bed. Did I tell you that the arms sweep over the ENTIRE side of the bottle, giving you no place to hold it when screwing the cap in? Do I need to mention this still? Are you still planning to buy it?
