Baby Products Reviews of North States Superyard Play Yard, Classic XT

Customer Review: kind of small, but it works
Summary: 4 Stars

I bought this to go around my wood stove *we don't use it, but I didn't want my toddler to accidentally trip on the bricks under it and fall head first on the stove. I works okay for that, but it just doesn't fit too good around it.

I also used it to keep her safe by the pool, but it was small for her to walk around and play in her water table at the same time. It seems I needed 2 sets to put together to make it bigger.

Now I use it to separate the bedroom of my two children. They have to share a room, but I wanted to keep my 2 year old away from my 5 month old's crib, so I put this across the room and it works wonderful. I love that it doesn't have to be a straight line, I can angle it so that I don't have to have the changing table in the fenced off area. It's hard to carry a baby and climb over the play yard every time he needs a diaper changed.

SO I would recommend getting two of these if you use them for outdoors. Otherwise, I love it.

Customer Review: Great Kid Fence, but need to be realistic in what your getting
Summary: 4 Stars

NOTE::: This is all based on us using a square configuration, which is not recommended by the product maker. So I would only read this if you want to do the same as we did.

We needed to control movement on our son while he was playing on his mat so we ordered this item with a few extension sets. We have a 9 foot by 6 foot square.

Look... it is not steel or wood, so be realistic in what this is going to do. If a kid throws themselves on the fence it is going to bow and give way. If they really want to push it around, they will. However, you should not leave your kids completely unattended in my opinion and they should get bored of the fence relatively quick and just play with their toys.

It will make it so you have a sense of control and not have to watch them 100% of the time, but it is a plastic fence without any brace and not that heavy... but newsflash = none of them are. If you want to contain your kids then build a real fence.

Customer Review: Best play space!
Summary: 4 Stars

This is great. We have it for our 7 month old son who was crawling all over the place. He loves to hang out in here and play. He doesn't hurt himself and if you add a foam playmat under it, it's even safer.

It's nice to have insetead of a playard because you can sit in there with the kid and hang out with him. It gives him alot of room to play and crawl. He can stand up and hold on to the sides. He even stood by himself! The other cool thing is that all the toys are in one spot! We have two baskets of toys in there for him to play with.

This is portable and light. It's kind of a pain to reshape;(which is why it got 4 stars) but once you have it together, it's pretty sturdy. It's also indoor-outdoor, which is great for people with backyards, decks or pools.

Folds up very compactly. You could easily store this in a closet when not in use.

Overall, it's a great product to have and well worth the money. I highly recommend it.

Customer Review: Fits our needs
Summary: 5 Stars

I happily ordered a second system for my in-laws home.

I cannot stress enough that if you buy ANY play-yard for the purpose of leaving your child unattended, then you are going to have issues of some sort.

We purchased this initially because our 13 month old had simply outgrown the pack-n-play as a play area. He needed the room to move around, whether crawling, standing, or even attempting to walk. However, what he didn't need was to get into things, pull items off tables or chew on wires. And that's with me sitting right there.

I have the base package and it's set up in the hexagon shape with no problems. We are not constantly opening and closing the system, nor would I want to. I don't want to weaken the joints or closures. So, I simply lift my 25-lb child up and over.

We sit in the yard with our child, rolling the ball back and forth, he can stand up or crawl around safely.

Customer Review: Ok at first
Summary: 3 Stars

This play yard was great at first. I have a 14 month old and I got it for here when she was about 8 months. My daught was walkin at 8 months and as a work-from-home mom, sometimes it was tough to be on the phone and running around the house with her. She loved it, played with her toys and I would put a pillow in there so when she was sleepy, she can go to sleep. I would even be able to pop a video in and she would sit at watch and i felt comfortable leaving her in the room

DONWFALLS- she was able to push the playard down the hallway and get it stuck. She was also able to push it around to manipulate the shape and at one point was making it into a skinny little thing. Other down fall SHE CAN CLIMB OUT OF IT. Because of the little holes in it, she got her little toes in them and climbed out. I was sitting in my office and I heard little patter of feet coming down the hallway. I looked and there she was in my doorway smiling
