Customer Review: Dog Pen
Summary: 5 Stars

I needed a Pen for my dog, for when I'm at work. She's potty trained, but she gets scared and stressed being alone.
So I bought her this crate after doing A LOT of research and comparison.

First, it came in a pretty big box, that was delivered right to my front door.
I slid the panels out with no problems.
And what I LOVED about this, is the panels were already connected.

You do have to pull them a part, carefully, in order to open it and shape how you want it. The joints have to click, which is good so my dog won't accidentally mis-shape the pen.
First, I shaped it as an open rectangle, against my wall. Didn't work. It was super wobbly.
Then my boyfriend, being the smart man he is, told me these pens are meant to be shaped into a circle, rectangle or square. Duh! What was I thinking.

So we set it up as a rectangle, 2 x 1. I put it against my wall and it works PERFECTLY!!!
I have a yorkie/terrier mix and she's the size of my larger cat. It's a perfect size for her. When she stands on her 2 feet, she is still under the tall panels. Yay!
Even my cats won't jump in :}

I place her little bed/house, food, water bowl and pee pad with pad holder inside. It's perfect for training too!

Customer Review: Play Yard or Jail?
Summary: 5 Stars

My daughter is 8 months and crawling and climbing on everything. I have had it for a bout a month and use it indoors and outdoors. Sometimes she gets tired of being "jailed" and wants out. It is very helpful for my husband and I so we can do things in/out with her but not have to hold her and can feel confident she can't get into everything. We put her toys in it and she just plays. She is not using it to stand up but as long as you have it the way it is supposed to be used it is stable. We also have a huge wall unit entertainment center that has glass and my husband stretches out the yard and puts it against the center. It prevents her from being able to touch the glass and pull on the TV and stuff. We don't leave her alone at all like this but it is good when I am cooking or folding laundry. It gives me the security to know she can't get to the adult shelves etc. Since it is not suggested to use this way I suggest any way you use it not recommended you use care and supervision. We are thinking about buying the extension so there is more room for our daughter to crawl and eventually run around. We love it and think if you are thinking of getting one, buy this one not the colorful more expensive ones.

Customer Review: Very Versatile
Summary: 4 Stars

This is my second superyard. The first one I bought many years ago when the superyard was made with protruding metal hinges which were somewhat hazardous and invited mouthing by little teethers. Aside from being a little stiff to fold (which might be because it is new) this model is a vast improvment over the old. It's a couple of inches taller and seems sturdier. Great for blocking off the Christmas tree or any other part of the house. Cruising babies love to go round and round the inside and you can hang a busy box or other toys on the side to amuse a crawling baby.
During football season, my friends and I take our superyards to tailgate and join them together to make a super superyard, so all the toddlers can safely play together. It's easy to clean using the pressure nozzle on the hose outdoors. Minor drawback is that it can be scooted across the floor or climbed out of by a determined toddler. Do I really need to say that any play yard should always be used only under adult supervision? Final comment - one of the most useful pieces of child-care equipment I've
ever owned. The only reason I gave it 4 stars insteat of 5 is because my experiences with North States' customer service has been poor.

Customer Review: Good value compared to other models
Summary: 4 Stars

After reading some of the reviews I was expecting it to be more cramped, but there is ample room for our nine month old daughter to keep her content and my wife and I have no problem playing with her in the play yard. The extensions would make this huge but we don't need them yet. As she ages she may decide she needs more room. When configured into a semi-circle against a wall or back of the couch it provides a very roomy play area. If it incorporated an easy to use gate design I would give it five stars. The panels are difficult to snap together so it is annoying to not have a gate.

I do wonder how well this will hold up as just moving it around seems to stress the panels and their hinges, but only time will tell. Even when folded into the accordian shape for traveling with it there is visible twist and strain on the panel edges. I think you just need to be careful moving it. When my daughter outgrows it, it will make a great pet barrier to fence off an area for our dog when we have visitors.

Compared to others we looked at this model really offers a good value. I was going to try and make one, but the materials would have cost about the same as the $69 we paid for this play yard.

Customer Review: Excellent and Economical
Summary: 5 Stars

This play yard is a life-saver, and at $50, an amazing deal! The six plastic panels create a large enough enclosure for me to sit down with my son while he plays and I don't have to get up and chase him all over the house, or worry about him chewing on electrical chords (seriously!).

It is important to note what this is not. It is not pretty. It's a fence you put in your living room that is made of off-white plastic. It is not fun. If your child has any kind of need to explore or to be close to you, he or she will not be smiling like the children in the picture. It is not a parent. Children who can walk will easily be able to lift up the fence and crawl under. A little parental discipline should fix this problem in a hurry. I use the fence all the time to keep my son safe while I clean the house, do the dishes, cook, etc, and for this it works wonders!

Also, I bought the Superyard Two-panel Extension Kit for Superyard XT, White and it makes the play area much larger... almost too large, but if your kids need room, that's a great deal too!
