Customer Review: Excellent Baby Gate/Play Yard

My 14-month old son has used this gate as a free-standing play yard for a few months now and it is great. We have doubled its size by inserting extra panels, and it now provides him with a very large and safe play area. It is well built and he has not yet been able to push it around or knock it over. The wood is more attractive than the plastic version and is very well constructed. It is easy to disconnect the panels in order to fold it up or add panels. The gate provides easy access for adults, and both swings shut behind you or also has a catch to keep it open if needed. I have not attempted to use it as a wall-mounted gate so I cannot comment on how well it works in that type of situation or how easy or difficult it is to install. So far, this gate has been a terrific addition to our home.Customer Review: Looks and works well but disappointed in installation options

The only problem with this product is that you don't have a lot of control over how many panels you want to use. We wanted to remove just one panel to create a wall across an alcove off our kitchen. But only certain panels work with the mounting hardware - the minimum number we could remove was two panels, which would have been way too short. As a result, we had to zig-zag the fence in order to install it for our space. This works OK, and now that my daughter is cruising on it, it gives her a more interesting "course" to navigate. However, it has a lot of give in that it slides a bit when my daughter pulls up on it. Also be aware that there are plastic pieces that sit under the frame of the gate, and these pieces managed to rub the varnish off our hardwood floor.Customer Review: Great Gate!

This gate system is great! We have a fireplace and while it is not in use during the summer it creates a perfect barrier between our son, 10 months, and the potential safety problems. If you have a fireplace, consider using or buying a wooden gate system because when you light a fire metal will become hot and wood will too, but not like a metal gate which can burn your child's hands.
What makes this gate system great is it is easy to use right out of the box. I'm not a big fan of instructions and found the locking mechanism very intuitive in design and had very little problem putting the pieces together and installing quickly. As a side note, I would highly recommend buying sheet rock anchors when drilling into the wall.

We wanted a gate to block off the 6 foot wide entrance to our living room. This was one of the few that expanded enough to fit this space, and had the added benefit of matching our decor. The sections are nicely adjustable, and can be locked at any angle for extra stability. The rubber feet provide good traction on our hardwood floors, and the gate seems sturdy even without the optional mounting hardware. The gate opens a little stiffly, but is still manageable with one hand (even visitors to our home have no trouble figuring it out). Our only complaint is that the process of repositioning the gate to a different section is somewhat tedious. However, that will typically be a one-time event, so it's not a big deal.Customer Review: Great play pen, very secure

I love this play pen! It is very sturdy and secure. I bought a 2 panel extension to go with it and it makes for a nice play area. I think it would be a little small without the extension. The door is a little tricky; you have to push the button, lift up and pull out to open it. At first I needed two hands to open it, but after a few tries I got the hang of it and I can open it with one hand. Most of the time I just step over the sides if I'm hopping in with my son. The wood is very high quality. It is very easy to fold up and stash in a corner when I need to take it down. I would highly recommend it!
