I needed a safety gate to keep my kids away from my computer desk area, something that can go an L shape and so I did reasearch. I checked the lesser cost gates and did not like the low reviews that all had simular safety issues, such as sharp egdes from the plastic when broken easily etc... and I saw gates like these but with higher price tags. Due to the high reviews and considering the lower ones I bought this gate. Not only was it long enough to go around my computer deak, it aso gave me more room than expected for my chair (even considering the fact that we measured) and I found it is sturdy and safe, plus easy to install.
We will be buying another one for our living room !! We definatly got our moneies worth, plus we wont have to worry about buying a replacement because this one did not live up to it's expectations.

After reading all the product reviews, we sprung for two of these gates and put them together yesterday. We have them configured in a square with three segments per side, for a total of 36' of internal square footage. The gate is very sturdy and well-made. It is a putty color, and looks very nice in our home. We are thrilled with it so far. We want an entirely safe play space for our son who is now 6 months old and will probably be crawling soon. I believe in a balance between directed and self-directed play, and this will allow me to set him in a safe space with his toys for limited periods of time so he can learn to be independent and entertain himself. Before we got the gates, I didn't feel entirely safe putting him down in our home, and I didn't want to rely too much on his exersaucer. I would rather he learn to be creative than be entertained.Customer Review: Excellent Gate for the $$

I needed some sort of large gate to block my wood stove from my 11 month old son. The North States 3 in 1 is plenty big to wrap around the front of the stove. It is heavy and not easily moved by my kids (but easy for adults to move & fold). I did not attach it to the wall as it would be highly unlikely that they could tip it. The gate, like most kid proofing items, sticks out like a sore thumb in the room but this gate does blends in somewhat due to the taupe color which I mistakenly ordered (originally wanted white but glad that it came as taupe). The rungs of the gate are close enough together to prevent most toys from being put through the gate. After this winter when the stove is off, I can see using this gate to block off the kitchen from the kids. It is a high quality, versatile gate that I wish I would have purchased sooner.Customer Review: Excellent Product

I have been really pleased with this gate. I purchased it to use in the 6ft opening between our dining room and the living room to keep our toddler out of the dining room and kitchen. It took only two panels plus the door panel to cover the opening. The gate looks nice and is very sturdy and the height is perfect. The gate opens and closes smoothly and it locks securely. It would be very hard for a toddler to open and we have no concerns that our daughter will be able to get through it any time soon. The gate opens and closes smoothly and it is impossible to catch little fingers in the gate (no matter what part you're holding, your hand can't get pinched when the gate opens and closes). We are so pleased with this product. We have blocked off part of our living room with it, so now I can put my son is his little play area (aka "baby jail") when I need to do something around the house without him. He enjoys pulling himself up on it, and he likes having a bunch of toys to play with while I am gone for a couple of minutes. I also can tell that he is going to be a "climber," and I like that the vertical slats don't allow him to get out by himself. We also put one of these around our tv/media cabinet- my son was unrelenting in his quest to pull the huge tv over on himself and wanted to smash the glass on the cabinet beneath. This was a great solution. I wish that the gates were less expensive, but oh well. For us, it was money well spent.
