Baby Products Reviews of Night & Day Bottle WarmerCustomer Review: Fantastic bottle warmer! Summary: 5 Stars
We formula feed, and we have been using this bottle warmer since day one. My 2 month old kid eats every 2-3 hours, 24 hours a day, and almost all of her bottles are warmed in this warmer. It works perfectly, provided you follow the instructions, which are thankfully printed on the warmer itself, so you don't have to fumble around with the manual.
Speaking of manuals, according to the Dr Brown's bottles manual, you should never use Dr Brown's bottles in a bottle warmer. We always warm our kid's food in a separate standard storage bottle, with the cap unscrewed but still on, then transfer to a dr brown's bottle for actual feeding.
The cold storage thing is great as well.
Also, I clean the bottle warmer about once every 2-3 days, I think this helps with its overall performance.
Also, when my kid is crying for food, if I hold her near the bottle warmer, the smell of the warming formula calms her down. Can't beat that!
Customer Review: Best Purchase yet! Summary: 5 Stars
We just had a new baby boy and I feel like a new mother! My older son is now 14 years old and boy have baby products changed since then! I seriously considered comments and reviews when deciding which items I wanted, which I could live without, and what was an absolute must have. So I hope you find my review just as helpful when deciding on your purchase. I call this bottle warmer one of the best purchases we've made so far! I read the mixed reviews on this product before purchasing it and I'm glad I ignored all the negative reviews. I quickly learned that the problem with those used wasn't the product, it might have been "user error". I have found this warmer to be extremely easy to use. The trick is to play with the warmer and get the water levels right before attempting to use it. So far we use it daily and it's always heated consistantly and quickly (1-2 mins max). I still ALWAYS shake the bottle and check the temp before giving it to my son!
Customer Review: Does what it is says it will! Summary: 5 Stars
I am not sure why people find this so difficult to use. I will admit the issue of how much water to use is a little confusing but really after the first few times you use it you get the hang of it. I recommend practicing at a time other than the 3am feeding when you have a screaming baby! It's not really an exact science. If you find you like your bottles cooler, use less water than it says and vice versa. I haven't had any problem with inconsistencies in heating. Obviously if you have different amounts of fluid and/or room temp verse cold it makes a big difference.
I LOVE having the cooler on the back too. My only problem is that with a one month old sometimes I use more than 2 bottles. If you have that problem just put the formula in the bottles and keep some bottled water handy to add just before, then you can heat and go!
Overall, if you have a 2 story house and nightime feedings I don't know how you can do without this!!
Customer Review: Does what it says Summary: 3 Stars
This item was something that I really wanted when my son was born. He's still using bottles at night, but we are no longer using this. We have realized that it is just easier to fill the bottles with water and just add the powder when he wakes up. For others that use other methods of feeding (expressed milk, ready-to-serve formula, etc.) this product might be easier.
There are two complaints that I do have about this though. The lid for the cooler compartment is awkward to grip. The shape makes it hard to hold with one hand and the texture is slick. There were more than a few times it went crashing around at 2 AM. I had seriously thought about roughing it up with some sand paper to give it some grip. Also, the markings for the water level (on the viles) came off very quickly. We finally just figured out where to measure to through trial and error.
Like I said, it does what it says, but I don't feel that it's been worth it.
Customer Review: Good, but read this if you use Dr. Browns! Summary: 4 Stars
I have to agree with the other reviewer who uses Dr. Brown's bottles - make sure to take the cap and tube off the bottle when using the warmer! I wish I had read this before I had boiling formula leaking all over the place! I do not know what it is about the Dr. Brown's bottles, but if you don't take off the cap and tube, they WILL boil over. And it STINKS, not to mention that you've wasted formula, and created a nasty mess.
Even with this issue, we have been very happy with the warmer. A lifesaver if you have a 2-story - it's so great not to have to go down to my kitchen every night - especially since my son still gets up twice in the night to eat. If you follow the directions on how much water to use, the formula ends up at just the right temp.
On the whole a great product, I just hope you other Dr. Brown's users out there read this before trying to figure out why your bottles keep boiling over!
