My 14 month old son throws everything off the table (plates, bowls, spoons, etc) so we just put food on the table topper and he eats with his hands. This works great at Chuck E. I really like these table toppers. I wrap about 6 inches under the table and stick it because that's where lots of germs (and bubblegum, and what not are). Yeah it may be a little germaphobic but I can't tell you how many times I've wiped the table with a wet wipe and realized just how dirty it was. I don't even want to think about what's under the table which is why these are great.
The BIG benefit to these mats is that the kids LOVE the colors and are facinated with them. My 8 month has been using them for a few months and just loves touching the mat. The only downside is that I wish the sticky strip was wider because it does have a problem staying adhered to underneath the table. It could also be because the table is so dirty.

Worth every penny! We no longer worry that our daughter is getting an extra side of germs with her fries! She loves the design and has fun pointing and naming characters/objects. The adhesive is as sticky as your going to get, but could possibly be pulled up by the child if they really wanted it off the table. We are repeat buyers of this product.
