Customer Review: Redesign works much better!

We registered for this item and got it when my son was born in April of 2009. The warmer that we had was a deluxe unit with a pop-up lid and water reservoir to keep the wipes from drying out. The lid broke only after a few months and we wound up tapping it shut and just opening the main unit to get the wipes out. That was a big pain because the wipes that are made to dispense like Kleenex wouldn't separate and would come out in multiples. The wipes would frequently dry out and turn brown. After using that wipe warmer for a long time in that condition, I decided I had had enough and was going to buy a new one, but not a Munchkin brand warmer because of our past experience.
I looked around at different warmers and they all have the same complaints with burning the wipes, etc. When it came down to it, this wipes warmer had the highest rating so I decided to give the Munchkin another try. I am so happy that we did. They redesigned the whole thing. The lid is now manual so the pop-up mechanism can't break. They also redesigned the inside bottom of the warmer. It's now flat instead of ridged and the bottom is further from the heating element. I have now refilled the warmer 4 times and have not had ANY issue with the wipes drying out and burning. The lid to the main part of the unit now locks down too which I also think keep the wipes from drying out since the seal is better. Overall I think they did a great job with the redesign and I'm glad we decided to go with the Munchkin.

I received this wipe warmer as a gift for my first daughter, and it was one of the best gifts I received! My daughter always cried and wet all over the place whenever I used a cold wipe, but she was so much calmer when I started using the warm wipes. I had none of the problems other reviewers describe for wipe warmers. Never smelled moldy, the unit never leaked, and my wipes never dried out. Whenever I refilled the dispenser, I would just pour an 8 oz. cup of water over the top of the wipes themselves. The wipes were usually moist, even when I got to the bottom, and if they started getting a little dry, I just added a little more water. I did usually use the thicker Huggies wipes. This wipe warmer lasted for about a year with my first daughter, and then I passed it on to my sister to use for her baby, which has lasted another 9 months. I am buying another one of these for my second baby. The only reason I am buying a new one, is that the hinges of the unit are now broken, due to so much use, and two toddlers playing with the lid of the dispenser, which is understandable. I know that plenty of people believe these wipe warmers are an unnecessary purchase, a waste of money. I can not disagree more! I have been using this warmer for our third baby and love it!!! Baby is much less fussy during diaper changes than with cold wipes. I guess it makes sense: any (expecting) mom that has experienced the difference between cold ultrasound gel and warm gel being used will know what I'm talking about.
Anyway, I am very happy with the performance of this warmer. I too have noticed that if you don't add water to the wipes, they tend to dry out quicker, especially if you forget to close the lid. But that's something I will gladly do.
As for the temperature of the wipes, I find it is just right - not too hot as to have to worry about burning baby's behind, but certainly warm enough to make a difference.
Would I buy this again? Absolutely. In fact: This will be one of my new go-to shower gifts. I know I wish I had had one of these for my younger children. It would have made (late-night) diaper changes a lot more tolerable for baby and thus for me.

What can we say, babies cry, and a lot at times. One time that we can help to control crying is at diaper change time, especially when it is poopy diaper time. The wipes used to clean baby are a wonderful solution, and although relatively benign to our touch, the baby seems to have a rather different opinion.
We ordered the Munchkin Warm Glow Wipe Warmer from Amazon, it arrived quicker than the days that we were told, in great shape and worked quickly and easily out of the box. What is wonderful about this product is that it is so straightforward and very simple to get working with.
One cool and very useful feature is that you can unplug it close to the base easily. The cord has a plug that usually is in the main housing of the item, this one is a few inches off the item on the cord and makes it easy to keep the plug in the wall when unplugging the warmer when not in use.
If you want a quick and easy solution that will pay for itself in terms of ease of use and yes, baby crying less, get the Munchkin Warm Glow Wipe Warmer.
Customer Review: pointless and inefficient

The wipes are warmed only for about 2 seconds after pulling it out. As soon as you begin wiping, they're just as cold as they would have been without the warmer. Also, the cord is inconvenient if you need to change the baby in another room because you can't just take the box of wipes with you (also inconvenient if you don't have a plug located by your diaper changing station). The plug is super bulky and gets extremely warm, which made me a little nervous. After a few weeks of using the product, the lid stopped closing all the way. So when I would pull a wipe out, the whole lid would bob up. Also, this resulted in the top several wipes getting dried out (and the middle wipes, when i pulled from there, were not even warm). I wish I could have gotten a refund on this product, but when I took it back to target I found that they had discontinued selling the product and wouldn't re-stock it. Don't waste your money!
