Baby Products Reviews of Munchkin Mozart Magic CubeCustomer Review: A musical toy that doesn't drive us crazy! Summary: 5 Stars
We gave this toy to our 11 month old and she loves it! She loves to sit and bang on whatever button is on the top, listening to the song start and stop and watching the blinking light turn on and off.
We love it because it plays beautiful, classical style music that actually sounds good. Seriously, one of the songs is the best rendition of "Twinkle, Twinkle Little Star" I've heard coming from a kids' toy! The lights behind each button blink in response to however that instrument is playing at the time (an equalizer style light). We also like that hitting a button so that the music disappears in the middle of the song and then hitting it again doesn't restart the song, it just mutes it. So we don't hear the beginning of the same song over and over and over again. We also like the variety of songs in the toy: it plays 6-8 songs that you can flip though by hitting the "orchestra" button.
Overall: we love it! Nicely built, nicely executed, good sound, bright colors, nice feel, AND our baby loves it.
Customer Review: Mozart Cube Summary: 5 Stars
I purchased the Mozart Cube on the recommendation of my friend who has two small grandchildren. She told me the features of the cube, and being a music lover, especially classical music, I thought my 8 month old granddaughter would enjoy the cube. It was suppose to be a Christmas present, however, my children showed up with the baby before Christmas. She was being a bit fussy and so I gave her the Mozart Cube. She loved it! She enjoyed the music, being able to push the buttons that trigger the musical instruments and was fascinated with the lights. The cube is great and the price of the cube is remarkably inexpensive for what pleasure and enjoyment she has already gotten from it. My children decided the cube is to stay at my house and so the Mozart Cube will always be a source of entertainment for my granddaughter. I highly recommmend this for younger children as multiple senses are stimulated.Munchkin Mozart Magic Cube
Customer Review: philadelphia mom Summary: 5 Stars
I got this toy for my son when he was just a few weeks old. As an infant, he loved the music and flashing lights. It held his attention longer than any of his other toys. I had to put it away for a few months when he was around 8 months old because he would want to pick it up and drop it (it's extremely durable, but I was worried he would drop it on his foot or leg and hurt himself. It's very heavy for a baby!). I got it out again when he was around 14 months old, and it became one of his favorite toys. It's very easy to use and the music selections are nice. It plays 10 different Mozart pieces. You can press the "orchestra" button to hear all the music instruments together, or you can listen to individual instruments (flute, french horn, piano, harp, or violin), or any combination of those instruments. My son is now almost 2, and is starting to say (or at least attempt to say) some of the names of the instruments. He enjoys this toy very much, though it no longer holds his attention for more than 10 minutes or so.
Customer Review: Captivating for my infant Summary: 5 Stars
I added this to my registry after reading all the great reviews. It turned out to be a great decision for us. We received it as a gift when our son was just 2 weeks old and has been captivated by this magical music box, ever since! Not only does he tune into the music but likes to watch the lights flash in time with the music. You can have the entire orchestra play the piece, or have just one or any combination of the 5 individual instruments play their part. I love that this "toy" will grow with our son, in that it will hopefully have helped to instill the love of music, as well as introduce him to the way an orchestra functions. Of course we also hope that early and often exposure will help foster math skills.
We love the MMC not only for the reasons above, but because it happens to soothe our baby when he is occasionally otherwise inconsolable.
(Please note that a reviewer below suggests that it only plays one song!!! It plays SEVERAL pieces by Mozart!)
Customer Review: Great for babies! Summary: 5 Stars
We bought this music cube because another couple with a baby 2 weeks younger than ours have it and our daughter LOVED playing with it right away, even before she was quite sure what it was she was supposed to do with it. Whenever she starts to get upset, I just put this in front of her and she will look up at me and smile and start playing with it immediately.
The music selection is really good and the feature that allows you to turn on just one instrument or all of them will help the baby learn to distinguish sounds as s/he grows up. The cushioned corners are very nice as well because our daughter has now started trying to lift it and sometimes puts the corners in her mouth, so I am glad they are not sharp. It's also pretty durable, as she's rolling it and likes to bang her teething toys on the edges and it hasn't shown any adverse affects yet.
I highly recommend this to anyone with babies or toddlers. My daughter is only 6mo right now and she's in love with this toy.
