Baby Products Reviews of Munchkin Mozart Magic CubeCustomer Review: Great for the growing baby! Summary: 4 Stars
My son received this as a gift at Christmas. He was 3 mos at the time and it was a bit of a disappointment to the gift giver when he has no interest in it. However, by his 5th month... he was enthralled with it. The large buttons are easy for little hands to slap. The multiple songs are inspirational and enjoyment for both the parent and child. When played in dim room, my son loved the flashing lights. My only negative comments are: I don't think a child below 5-6 mos is ready for the bright lights and sound (no volume control). It's great for music, but not as a "cause and effect" toy. The buttons are so easy to push, he'd set it off with his toes as he was holding it and didn't realize he was doing it.
Customer Review: Munchkin Mozart magic cube Summary: 4 Stars
I bought this product online for my 16 month old granddaughter. I was a little worried when I tested it myself before giving it to her. In a quiet room it seemed too loud and there was no way to control the volume.
But on Christmas morning, with 5 of us in the room, the volume seemed fine. She knew right off the bat what to do with it. Some of the tunes even had her dancing. I think as she gets a bit older, she will figure out that each button makes a different sound.
Unlike some of the reviews I've read, my daughter-in-law, who has a degree in Music Therapy was not turned off by the quality of the sound.
All in all, I'm happy I bought it because my granddaughter seems to love it.
Customer Review: Not So Great For Younger Siblings Summary: 3 Stars
I love this toy for babies. They have so much fun rolling it and hitting the big buttons to make beautiful music. I love the bouncy ball style corners to keep baby from injuring himself. I love the classical music that does not sound like your typical synthetic baby music. However, I not only have a baby, but two toddlers. This is a heavy toy. It hurts (a lot) when thrown by toddlers. (It does stand up to the beating, so that is a plus.) It also seems to attract use as a step stool since it is a cube & has resulted in quite a few falls. Take this toy away when they are toddlers! And if you have both a baby and a toddler, don't let either play with this toy! It just doesn't make for a very good combination.
Customer Review: Great concept but terrible sound! Summary: 3 Stars
I agree with some other reviewers- the idea of this toy is great. Teaching a child to hear good music and to listen close enough to hear the different instruments that contribute to the overall sound of a piece. Having the power to turn certain instruments on and off is fun and helps one hear the music in a different way. But my god the quality of the sound doesn't even attempt to sound like a real instrument. It's jarring and when my baby first heard it, she looked shocked and cried. Eventually she got used to it but do I really want her to get used to 'music' that is so electronified and distorted? Would love this if they had focused on the quality of the music instead of just getting it out there.
Customer Review: My 1 year-old nephew INSTANTLY fell in love! Summary: 5 Stars
I bought this cube for my nephew's first birthday because he loves to press buttons and bobs up and down (to dance) when he hears music. When we turned the cube on for the first time, he instantly began dancing and kept pressing the buttons to keep his groove going! I could not believe my eyes. He continues to find such great joy out of this toy - it's a huge hit. The cube is a great size, easy for storage/travel, and has colorful/easy to press buttons. Also, the music is quite pleasant for adults - it comes with different tunes or you can individually add instruments for a full concert experience. My favorite combo is 'flute' with 'french horn'. This is the best gift I have ever gotten my nephew!
