Baby Products Reviews of Munchkin Mighty Grip Flip Straw Cups 2-Pack, 10- Ounce (Colors Vary)Customer Review: Perfect for on the go... Summary: 5 Stars
These are nice & light and nonbulky. We use the Playtex Straw cups at home because they are bulkier. But we keep a set of these in the car and one in our carry-on bag for airline travel. These DO NOT LEAK! My one year old sometimes throws things down from his carseat (that let's-test-gravity stage) and this holds up quite nicely without any spills. He also uses the soft sippy spout version of this same maker and that also DOES NOT LEAK!! I love that the cups aren't too big (no sense in having kids supersize when adults shouldn't be doing it either). My toddlers hold the cups quite easily. They clean up easily and reassembly is a snap. We do not leave home without these.
Customer Review: Great sippy cups, especially for travelling! Summary: 5 Stars
Our son immediately took to the straw-style sippy cups over the other kind, so we've been using these Munchkin flip-top cups every day for about 8 months. Until last week, they never once leaked -- even when thrown from the high chair, tossed in a bag, etc. Their age was finally showing after eight solid months of use, so we decided to buy a few replacements. Unfortunately, the flip-top style seems to be hard to find locally these days, but I was glad to see Amazon had them in stock. In our experience, this flip-top version is better for traveling (with regard to potential leaks while being carried in a bag) than the type where the straw is exposed at all times.
Customer Review: My Daughter loves them Summary: 4 Stars
Pros:
Good quality
Do not leak
Good for travel
Cons:
A lot of pieces
Not too easy to clean
My daughter loves these cups. They are nice to stick in the diaper bag. They do not leak and are sturdy. The straw system in the cup comes apart in two pieces. The bottom part is a hard plastic and the straw that goes through the top is rubbery. They are not the easiest to clean. All together the cup is five pieces. I have left the cup with out the bottom straw. My daughter was not happy when her drink was not coming out of the straw. Oops! That was a long ride home. I would recommend this to a parent on the go.
Customer Review: These work well; occasional leaks Summary: 4 Stars
We introduced the Munchkin straw sippy cups to our twins when they were 12 months old. One of our boys caught on the first day we introduced them; the other took a week to catch on. (Before this we had used primarily bottles; they never did well with either soft-spout or hard-spout sippy cups.) Within two weeks, we were able to ditch bottles and transition full-time to these straw sippy cups. I was glad to skip regular sippies since straw sippies are supposed to be better for oral and speech development. Overall we're happy with these. They are reasonably easy to clean and put together. They do randomly leak sometimes but for the most part they're fine.
Customer Review: Worst Straw Cups Summary: 1 Stars
I got a couple sets of the Munchkin straw cups thinking it would be a nice upgrade for my daughter from her current sippy cup however it turned out to be a big mistake. The first problem with the flip cup device is that it is impossible to reassemble the straw cup without using some utensil to pry the flip device out. Also the flip device seems to make it harder to sip liquids out of the cup, it took considerable effort even by me to get any liquids out through the straw. Overall I found the cups very hard to clean and to reassemble. The worst is seeing my daughter struggle to use the cups, we have switched to the foogo cups and she is much happier.
