Customer Review: Requires too much suction
Summary: 2 Stars

I have the non-flip-top version of the Munchkin straw cups and we've been very happy with those. Thought I would get the flip version to keep the straw clean when we pack drinks. However, in this version, the valve is located much further down the straw (below the lid) and getting liquid out is _much_ harder than either the non-flip version or the Nuby straw cups we have. I tried some variations in the assembly of the straw pieces and made sure the bottom wasn't sealing against the bottom of the reservoir but in all cases it takes about 3 times the suction force to get the liquid up the straw. Drinking from this was difficult for me and completely frustrated my son. We've gone back to the Nubys and non-flip Munchkins.

Customer Review: Great Cups!
Summary: 4 Stars

I did quite a bit of research trying to find just the right straw sippy cup for my 14 month old daughter. We had tried a Nuby brand one but she would only chew on the straw and couldn't figure out how to suck out of it. I got this cup and within a couple tries she figured out how to suck and has loved them ever since. They are easy to open and close for me but just hard enough that she can't open them without help which helps prevent spills from not know it's open. Using the Dr. Brown's little cleaners I easily clean the straws. The only reason I didn't give them 5 stars is because when tipped upside down long enough (and not long) they will drip. This hasn't been a big issue for us though so we love them!

Customer Review: pain in rear to use
Summary: 1 Stars

I bought a pack of two couple of weeks ago and trashed one already, and going to throw away the second one as soon as I receive my new order of better quality sipping bottles. First of all, it's difficult to clean. You take out the straw but then it takes a while to figure out how to "spiral" insert it back. But more importantly, I tried to sip from it myself and its either very hard to sip it, or in our case with one of the bottles, it was impossible to sip/drink from it. I tried to shorten the straw by cutting a piece out as I thought maybe it's touching the bottom. It did not work, I still had troubles sipping. Maybe it's a problem with air vacuum inside the bottle, I am not sure. But this was not a good buy.

Customer Review: Munchkin Straw Cup
Summary: 4 Stars

The munchkin mighty grip cups have worked well for us. It took our daughter a little while to get the hang of using it, as with any cups she has tried so far. But once she figured out how to suck from the straw she was quite happy to use this cup. It is good for her as she doesn't have to tip the cup up to get fluid out of it. The straw reaches right down to the bottom of the cup. At first our daughter had a difficult time sucking the water out, but that was because we hadn't put the two pieces of the straw together properly!! It is good that it is a no-leak bottle - although of course it will leak a few drops if there is some fluid remaining in the top half of the straw. We are very happy with this cup.

Customer Review: Too hard to suck liquids through straw
Summary: 1 Stars

I purchased two of these thinking that they were the next step to the straw cups that do not recede into the lid. I washed them and presented them to my 20-month old who is proficient with straws and sippy cups. He seemed to have trouble. So I tried it myself. Goodness! I had to suck as hard as for a really thick milk shake to get water through the straw.

I emailed the company, and a very nice lady answered me. She suggested putting the silicone straw section under hot water and squeezing it to soften it up. I tried this and it still didn't work. Currently, these two cups are sitting in my cupboard unused. It's a shame since I have liked every other Munchkin product I have purchased up to these.
