I just started using these for my 5 month old daughters. One of them is extremely fussy lately (We think she is teething) This calms her down so fast and keep her occupied for a good 15 minutes. She gets very upset if you take it away from her too! I have only put frozen homemade baby food in it so far. I love this product and wouldn't want to be without it! Haven't had any trouble cleaning it as some have stated, but then again, still only using frozen foods in it and I rinse it right away. Has been a sinch to clean. To me it sounds like banana is a bad idea so just stay away from that, wash it right away, and you should be fine!Customer Review: Great for fussy teething baby!

We bought one of these on recommendation from a friend and used it within a day! Great to put in semi-frozen bananas or even "popsicles" (buy a cheap ice tray from dollar store with small cubes and freeze a little of your baby's juice). Makes a little mess but what doesn't? Baby loved gnawing on this when he was teething (way better than his teething toys or a pacifier for keeping him quiet), and it helped him with his coordination trying to figure out how to hold it to chew on the cold end. Only took him a few days to figure it out. Great to sit him in high chair with while you work in kitchen! Be sure to wash before use!Customer Review: well made but unnecessary

As a first-time mom I was paranoid about my child choking on things, so I thought this would be the answer. Well, my daughter only chewed on the handle, so it didn't work as a feeder.
As time went by and I have learned about babies learning to eat, my fears about choking have been alleviated and I have found that this is a totally unnecessary item. We still have them kicking around from our firstborn, but haven't used them with our second child.
Sit them upright (no leaning back at all) and let them chew and try things. Save your money on these and buy a good board book to read together instead.

We love these things! I usually keep one loaded up with a banana in the freezer for a teething day treat. We use the other one for afternoon snack. I actually want to buy a couple more packs so I can keep 2 or 3 in the freezer.
Like one of the other reviewer's said, pears and apples work pretty well. In my experience, a frozen banana seems to clean off a little easier than regular banana.
Some cleaning advice: You have to rinse this thing immediately after use for best cleaning results. It's not a big deal and there's no way around it, but man! This is messy fun for baby! :)

The concept is great, but after one use you are unable to clean it properly and who has time w/a small child to be repeatedly cleaning this thing. I would not recommend this to a friend although I loved the idea. I tried rinsing immediately after use but there was always food stuck in the mesh...ran it through the dishwasher..still food in the mesh..tried pulling it out by hand..still food stuck in the mesh. My baby is past the age of using so I have no need for it anymore but I hope someone has come out with something more practical that doesn't require a ridiculous amount of effort for one use.
