Baby Products Reviews of Mommy's Helper Toilet Seat Lid-LokCustomer Review: Doesn't secure the lid very well Summary: 2 Stars
We just installed this product on our dual-flush toilet and you can still lift the lid about 3 inches high. I followed the directions exactly. I'm not sure if it's because our toilet is dual-flush or new or one of the types that sits higher than the normal run-of-the mill toilet. Whatever the reason, this product didn't deliver to my expectations. We bought two of these. I have a normal toilet in another bathroom and I'm going to install the second lid-lok later today. Hopefully it works on that one. If not, you'll see a second review from me.
Customer Review: Very Happy Summary: 5 Stars
I got this product after having an issue with a clogged toilet. We think our son put something in the toilet and flushed it so I determined that we needed to at least put a lock on the toilet just in case we left the door open. It works great for the kiddo, and it's so good we have people ask us how to unlock the toilet. We even had one person to take it off completely. Once you figure out how to use it though it's really easy and can be used one handed. Would definitely get it again and recommend it to everyone who needs to get a toilet lock.
Customer Review: Love this lock! Summary: 5 Stars
I think this is the best toilet lock ever. I have a very active 15 month old who loves to throw stuff into the toilet and this lock has stopped him every time. It's easy to use: my 4 year old and her friends are able to open it to use the toilet and for adults it only takes on hand. It's easy to install and is removable. We have them at my mom's house and leave them unlatched so they aren't in the way except when the kids are there. I've tried a couple other locks, but this one by far is the easiest and most convenient.
Customer Review: It works for the price. Summary: 3 Stars
Does the job keeping the lid closed. Easy to operate. Only dislike is that the top clamp is not flush (no pun intended) with the seat lid like it shows in the product image. There is about a one inch space between the clamp and lid so there is room for little fingers to lift seat and to insert between toilet rim, seat and lid, and that's just gross to me. Maybe there are toilet seats that are thicker. The manufacturer should include a pad to insert if you have that space problem because I don't know what to use.
Customer Review: fits all three toilets, cheap, and does the trick Summary: 5 Stars
Since none of the toilet locks look especially appealing, I decided to give this cheap one a try. It fits all three of my different toilets, and was super easy to install (no tools, common sense). My boy was obsessed with toilets and now just leaves them alone because he's not able to get it open.
I read the other reviews, and technically, if you have a strong, determined kid, the thing could break, but my strong determined 16-month old hasn't done it yet, so I definitely recommend this lock.
