These boor locks really do work.I have forgotten they were on there, and giving the door a pretty hard tug to open it they stayed in place like a champ. My 2 year old has wanted into the closet a few times, tried to let himself in and they didn't give. I bought this to keep my cats out of the laundry room - and it has worked wonders! I used to put heavy items in front of the door so the cats wouldn't be able to open it, but that proved to be a hassle for me. This this easily locks the door from them but allows me easy entrance. We looked at Babys-r-us and found nothing like this. For the price I thought why not? Now I could not imagine having a toddler without these simple and completely useful little door locks. This product is GREAT!! I keeps my very determined 20 month old out of the closet were we keep our arts and crafts!! The Mommy's helper Slide-lok Bifold Door Lock gets the job done. I may order a couple more for other bi-fold doors. I was slightly disappointed that the "handle" was short and only on one side, but it definitly does what it is intended to do. In my oppinion, it's a good deal.
