When searching for an item to prevent my nearly two year old twins from opening the closet doors, I thought this would be perfect. The product should have specified that it does NOT work with metal bi fold doors. I placed the product on the door as the instructions said and as soon as i tried to open the door with it in place (with and without the extra piece to hold it in place) it popped right off! I am sure if the doors were solid wood, it would have worked, but i would not recomend this product if your bifold doors are the older metal style!Customer Review: So simple, yet so effective

Our pantry has a bi-fold door. Once our one and a half-year old twins figured out how to open it, every day (every hour??) was a battle to keep the food in the pantry. We ordered the Slide-Lok Bi-Fold Door Lock and upon installation (incredibly easy) my life suddenly became much less stressful. Hurray! With the thickness of our door, it slides a little hard, perhaps, but a small price to pay for doing the job intended. If you need a bi-fold door to stay closed until YOU want it opened, I definitely recommend this product.Customer Review: Works well...

This works pretty well, even with a five year old in the house. It was exactly what I needed. The only reason I gave it only four stars is because, like every other product like it in its class, it is made of plastic. I believe a metal option would work better, however it is made of some pretty durable plastic. My five year old has tried to get in and it has kept him out, however I have to tell other adults visiting that it is there, since it is made of clear plastic and an adult could break it...Customer Review: Keeps kids and more out of bifold doors!

Unlike most who probably purchased these to keep small children from getting into things they don't belong in, I bought them to keep my two curious cats out of the closet that we store their food in. My older cat was clever enough to figure out how to bounce himself off the door so it would spring open . . . and then the feast was on!! But not anymore with these locks! They are simple, unobtrusive, and cheap! I would highly recommend these to anyone needing to keep bifold doors secured!Customer Review: Keeps cats out too!

We bought two of these to keep our cat from opening the bi-fold doors in our bedroom at 4 a.m. every morning (in order to wake us extra early to feed him). They absolutely work great...there's no way to open the doors until the locks are slid to the side. They are super easy to install, slide from side to side easily and don't mar the paint on the door. We will be buying two more for our daughter's bi-fold doors; the cat has moved his early morning efforts to her room.
