Baby Products Reviews of Moby Wrap Original 100% Cotton Baby Carrier, ChocolateCustomer Review: So comfy for mom and baby! Summary: 5 Stars
I love this carrier! I used a Baby Bjorn for my other children and purchased another for my new baby, but I wanted a Moby Wrap also. I never use the Baby Bjorn anymore, my son is 8 months old and since he was about 6 months old (about 18lbs.) the Baby Bjorn has caused back strain. The Moby has caused no back strain and my son is quite at ease in it. He does not like sitting in shopping carts so in order to get my grocery shopping done I put him in the Moby and he is quite content and often falls asleep in it. I also use the Moby to go on walks, since carrying an extra 20lbs. around is great exercise! Coffee got spilled on my instructions so I went to the Moby website and followed the instructions there, but now I do not need them and I can put the carrier on as fast as the Baby Bjorn, it is really not difficult. I love the soft fabric and definitely recommend this carrier!!
Customer Review: Average Summary: 3 Stars
This was the first baby carrier I had purchased. I was excited to get it, but did not realize just how much work it is to tie it. I was using at home and did not even attempt to use it outside - the wrap itself is so long! I'm sure if you wrap it on yourself prior to leaving it would work just fine though.
Once the wrap is on, it's pretty cozy to snuggle a little one in there. I ended up returning this wrap mainly because I purchased another baby carrier that buckles and has more structure (pikkolo). I needed quicker on/off time, especially for the times when baby is fussy or I'm in a hurry.
This moby wrap is definitly great for smaller babies, I did not get experience with an older baby to review. It is soft and warm, yet breatheable. I only used for a very short time period, so I'm not sure how it feels after a while wearing it.
Customer Review: Great for both preemies and larger babies Summary: 5 Stars
We bought our Moby for our first child because he was premature - few baby carrying products cater for small babies this well. Using this carrier allowed us to keep our son close when we brought him home from NICU, continuing the benefits of the kangaroo care while giving us the flexibility to move around while doing so.
This product is simply excellent. OK, it looks like a long piece of cloth. Which it is. And it looks complicated. It isn't.
The key advantage of this carrier over, say, the Baby Bjorn or shoulder slings is the ability to distribute the weight of the child around your waist and hips. It's so comfortable, you can wear it all day. It's also very portable, easy to wash, and secure for the child.
Great product for preemies and a must-have !
Customer Review: how did I survive without this?? Summary: 5 Stars
I had a baby bjorn with my first son and haaaaaaated it! Not only is the moby wrap at a fantastic price, it's super comfortable, really easy to put on, and my little one LOVES it!
I thought I'd have trouble getting used to using it, but the first time I tried it I had absolutely no problems. My son is 4 weeks old and I wear him just about every day. It's a terrific way to bond hands free, and get things done around the house. It also makes it much easier to chase my very active three year old around the park, grocery store, house, etc...
I may as well be a walking advertisement for the moby wrap, because I rave about it wherever I go. It is EASILY the BEST thing I bought for the new baby. AND IT WAS ONLY $40!!!!
buy the moby wrap, you'll kick yourself if you don't!
Customer Review: Too difficult to use, waste of money Summary: 1 Stars
I decided to buy the Moby wrap after reading all the great reviews. It must be great, right? Wrong! As soon as I unrolled it I knew I was in trouble! The directios aren't the easiest to follow, and it's hard to manage over 8 feet of fabric. By the time I managed to properly put on the wrap and then wrangle my 6-week old daughter into it, she was screaming. Over the course of the day, I tried several different holds with the wrap (some I never did figure out how to do, and I have a college degree so it's not my lack of intelligence). Each time my daughter was crying hysterically by the time I got her in. I pulled my Baby Bjorn out and she loves it. I'd save my money and buy a simple, easy to use carrier like Baby Bjorn. Moby wrap is going back today!
