Baby Products Reviews of Moby Wrap Original 100% Cotton Baby Carrier, BlackCustomer Review: Prefer wrap to stroller!! Summary: 5 Stars
The Moby Wrap is the best $40 we have ever spent! We flew from CA to AL at Christmas and the wrap made it such a wonderful flight, even with a 2.5 hr layover! We actually prefer using the Moby over the $200 stroller. It is so comfortable!! No pressure points anywhere. And once you tie it once or twice, you're good! It's so much LESS complicated to use than you are probably thinking right now. I was terrified that I wouldn't be dble to figure it out but that was not the case at all. The online videos are very helpful. My husband even enjoys wearing it, we actually have a Chicco Infant carrier Deluxe or something along those lines and spend over twice the money on it and it is nowhere near as comfy!! I was also given a sling at a baby shower that I don't enjoy using no because the Moby is so much better! It is the best, really! &&& Did I mention that my daughter absolutely LOVES the Moby?? She goes right to sleep and stays asleep lying on my chest, it is precious. I can actually get things done or shop or what not and we still get to bond. Thank you Moby for an incredible product!!!
Customer Review: Amazing way to carry a Preemie!! Summary: 5 Stars
My daughter was born 3 months premature and less than three pounds, she was a micro-preemie. In the NICU we did kangaroo care, skin to skin contact. With the Mody wrap it was a great way to have the closeness and be totally comfortable and feel fully covered. Even with all of the tubes and wires she was attached to, it was quite easy to get her into the best position for her airway. It was a little odd at first learning how to wrap it but with the directions it really didn't take me long. If you have a preemie and you want to be able to carry your baby hands free, this is the only way. All of the other carriers just don't support or hold a small baby in a way that will keep their head up and airway open... the Moby wrap does and it works wonderfully. Three weeks after my daughter was released from the NICU, we were flying to Texas where we were moving. The entire flight my daughter, 4 1/2 pounds at the time, was wrapped in her Moby and slept the entire trip. I wouldn't have traded the Moby for anything.
Customer Review: Was ready to sent it back... but didn't give up! Summary: 4 Stars
I have a 2 month old baby girl that LOVES to be outdoors and a 3 year old who loves the same. I figured, what better product than something that I can just wear and use as needed, so I'd have hands free for my 3 year old. Well, when it first came, I wanted to throw it away or return it... DON'T GIVE UP! This is the best product EVER! The only reason I didn't give it 5 stars is because I should have bought a different color. The fabric holds lint and pet hair... and I bought black. Other than that, once you have the 'wrap' part of it down, it's a breeze to use and my baby girl just LOVES it! Every time I put her in it, she falls right to sleep. Great for a colic baby that likes to sleep upright and once I figured it out (didn't take long), I feel 100% comfortable to use both of my hands for other things. And for someone with back problems, this wrap is comfy and gives me alot more time than any other 'baby holding' products would before my back is done.
Customer Review: Great for larger babies (7 months) Summary: 4 Stars
I was planning a trip that required two plane changes. To cut down on baggage, I did not want to bring a stroller or car seat, but I still needed a hands-free way to carry my 7-month old through the airport. The Moby wrap was great. I was able to carry my 18+ pound baby around several aiports without any back pain! My daughter loved being in the wrap. I used a front-facing technique so she could look around. The instruction booklet comes with detailed steps on how to do the different wraps. Be sure to practice the different wrapping techniques at home (with the baby) before taking the Moby out in public. One word of caution, the wrap is VERY long, so with my 5'3" frame, the wrap did end up touching the ground while I was putting it on (hence the 4-star rating). Also, I was allowed to walk through airport security with the baby in the wrap, on my chest (but I didn't think that was permissible).
Customer Review: Moby is good for reflux babies! Summary: 4 Stars
I loved this carrier. My infant had reflux and needed to be held upright most of the day and he never wanted to be put down and he hated his carseat. This was truly a Godsend.
When I was going out to a store, I would put it on before I left home. When I arrived, I would slip in the backseat and manuver the baby into the wrap. He never felt the cold air outside!
Now, it is stretchy so as my little guy grew to be not so little, it would loosen and need to be tightened semi-frequently. But I would just give the ends a quick tug so that was never a huge problem.
My guy was never a huge fan of the back carry as it was never really high enough for him to see anything over my shoulder. The front and side carries worked really well for us until he was approximately nine months old. If you take the time to really learn the wraps, it really pays off in the end.
