Customer Review: Had two, they both quit after short time!

First off, I could have loved this product and think it could be great if it actually worked! It is very bright so I cover it with a cloth at night since we don't have a clear area for a traditional night light. I originally bought the first one in July 2009 and it worked for 2 months and just quit for no reason. Called the company and after getting the run around, scanned and emailed my receipt and they sent me a new one. Now 3 months later our replacement quit! So annoying because it isn't handled by a child, only myself and all it does is sit there. What a waste of $20+. Save yourself the frustration and find something that works!
Update - April 2010. I've now had 3 of them within an 8 month span and they all quit working for no reason. Each lasted less than the one before and kept being replaced by the company. I've now given up and asked for a refund. Have yet to see it although they said they would send a check. Do yourself a favor and forget this one.

Last year we bought a tyke light for our two boys (4.5 and 22 months)as well as a third for our newest to use when she moves to a crib. We had a problem with one of them and Mobi responded wonderfully and sent a replacement right away. The ones the boys have get used every night, all night.
This summer after a little more than a year, the batteries were wearing low so we bought two new ones that have the changing lights. The boys love these even more.
I want to plug Mobi and their customer service. We had an issue with one of the two new ones - it would not charge right. They sent a new one immediately. The new one did not work out of the box and I called again. They were awesome and are sending a new one again but will test it first to make sure it works before they do. It is hard to find a company these days that backs their products and steps up to the plate as they have. I will buy again from Mobi.

The downfall and main reason for my 3 star rating is the unforgivable plastic smell in the light which has not gone away after nearly a month of owning this product. It was quite obnoxious when I removed the toy from its box, enough so that I kept the light from the kids a few days until it was less obvious.
If you don't care about the smell then you will likely be pleased at the long battery life and nice colors this light provides. Our kids carry this thing all over the house and drop it with no ill effects.
I would love to know if this light is BPA and phthalate free. Matter of fact until I find out this little guy is likely going up on my armoire where they can watch and not handle him.
Customer Review: the coolest nite lite ever!

This nite lite is awesome! I bought it for my 2 yr old and she LOVES it! The amount of light it gives off is just right. Not TOO bright and not TOO dim. The charge lasts a really long time. The only problem i found is that the wire the connects to the base does not make a tight fit, so it falls out..i have to have it just right and not touch it. But I'm just going to tape it together i think. I don't see why they would even have it as a separate piece.
***I had to order a second one, because the first one stopped working properly. When u try to switch it through the colors, it just shuts off. And the only way it will turn on is if you put it on the base, then pull it off. And then you can ONLY use the first, timed setting. I have owned it for only 3 months, it is used daily but only in bed. My daughter doesnt throw it around or anything..but its still a great night light and hopefully the new one will last.

I bought this for my 4 yr old daughter. I was in search for a nightlight that was not too bright, and portable. My daughter likes to have a dark room, but at the same time is a bit scared of the dark. I found this little guy after searching on Amazon, and am SO happy! It provides enough light to keep my daughter happy, and if the light is bothering her, she can put him under her pillow, problem solved! She likes to leave it on all night, so buying the rechargable one was a must. The charge does last all night, and she puts it on the charger in the morning, so the next night she is ready to go.
I only have a couple drawbacks to mention, though they are not enough to deduct any stars. First- The 15min timer function only can be used on the "blue" setting. Second- Though on "rainbow",it cycles through a rainbow of colors including pink, you can only set it to Blue, Green, Red or Rainbow (you can't leave it on pink).
