This nightlight is very cool. Simply designed and very functional.
The Glo man sits loosely atop a circular charger, and when he's lifted off of it, he glows. A button on the bottom of the GloMate cycles between one of several colors or the last setting is to periodically rotate between ALL the colors.
My one and two-year old love it! In fact, they love it so much that I'd say the fun factor is this night light's only disadvantage.
The problem is that the first night they had the GloMate, they wanted to play with it when they should have been going to sleep. I'm sure that the problem will be mitigated when the newness wears off, but I'd say that it's a potential disadvantage over other night lights.
Aside from that "issue", this is truly an awesome buy! Recommended!
Customer Review: Great light for Kids..If only they were more reliable..

We received a Blue Tykelight Jr. as a gift and loved it so much that we bought 2 of these, the concept is great, you can charge them and they still lit for about 6 hours, easy to grasp by little hands, my 2 year old loves it and even my 9 month old loves hugging it to sleep..the problem:
-1 of the lights we received was defective as the green light did not work (we tried to return it but while trying to complete the return online it asked for information from the original receipt that came in the box which we did not have anymore so I got stuck with it).
-The 2nd light worked great, for exactly 9 months and then it completely stopped working even if I leave it on the charger stand, I know it's not the charger because I tried my other charger and it still doesn't work, we used it every night so I don't know if the life of this light is supposed to be less than a year with daily use.
Anyway they're not cheap so once the 1st unit (w/o green light) dies I won't be buying it again but it was fun while it lasted.

We purchased our TykeLight in February 2009, and it was a huge hit with our then 16-month-old. He used it every night, and sometimes during the day, up until a few weeks ago, when the charger failed to work. I finally got around to calling Mobi last week. They were extremely friendly, apologetic, and helpful. Today we received a brand new TykeLight in the mail, with no request to send back the defective one. Not only that, but the charging mechanism on the new TykeLight has been reversed, so what used to be on the bottom of the "person" is now on the base, and vice versa. This makes a lot of sense, because the pieces that used to be on the base of the "person" were quite fragile, while the old base had no movable parts. Also, the parts used this time are a bit more substantive. Wish you could attach pics to reviews, but trust me, my guess is that fewer people will have the same charging issues that have been mentioned in other reviews. I got the TykeLight for my four year old son. He'd been struggling with nighttime and didn't want to sleep in his bed. We were running out of ideas on how to get him to sleep in his room when a friend posted a video of the light. When I got it I was thrilled that my little guy can sleep with it AND it won't get hot so there's no concern about it burning him. The light changes color so it's always red - his favorite color. My one complaint is that when you place the light on the stand it doesn't always seem to "connect" with the base so you need to wiggle it until you see the light turn on. Other than that, I think it's a great product. My son loves his light so much he even named it Michael :) I had to come and edit my comment a few weeks after receiving the TykeLight. For some reason only gree and red lights show now. Can't see blue, purple or rainbow...don't know what happened. Fortunately, my son's favorite color is red - just thought I'd share in case anyone's wondering. Still a great product though.Customer Review: Love it and it does have more color settings than you know!

I don't know if others have reviewed their same experience (not going to read all of them!) but this could be helpful if you haven't discovered it already. Some have shared their disappointment about not being able to put the glomate on other color settings besides the blue,green,red and rainbow. I discovered with mine that if you put the glomate on the charger while it is still turned on...on the **rainbow** setting and lift it off it goes back to the blue 15 minutes (as it does every time no matter the setting before hand)and then when you press the button to go through the different color choices instead of green it is turquoise and instead of red it is a mixed color of pink and purple. I have done this repeatedly and it gives me the same results every time. I am curious if this works for others so if you try it let me know! :) My three and a half yr. old daughter likes it on rainbow best and when I told her all the other options for solid colors she requested orange...SIGH ;)
