We have tried the Swaddle Me, the Swaddle Blanket, and the Miracle Blanket. The ONLY one our daughter AND son did not break out of was the Miracle Blanket ( she is now 5 1/2, he 3 1/2 - they each used it for about 3 months).
ADVANTAGES
* Works differently than others - holds arms at side with two "flaps" that tuck under the body (uses body weight), and then a longer piece wraps around the baby. The end result is a very tight but comfortable looking cocoon that works!
* NO VELCRO - The velcro on the Swaddle Me kept waking our daughter up and sticking to everything in its path.
* Keeps them warm with nothing else required.
DISADVANTAGES
* The part that swaddles the bottom half of the body sometimes come loose - you have to make sure that you wrap the blanket around the lower half o the body REALLY well!
* Nothing else we can think of
We are aware of other blankets on the market, but honestly haven't read a review or heard a testimonial from a friend to change our reco. We still get this as a gift!

My 5 week old daughter was having such a hard time falling asleep and staying asleep. We would try swaddling her in various receiving blankets, only to have her kick out of them. A friend suggested the miracle blanket, and even though I was skeptical, desperation won out. I shelled out the $30 for the blanket and am so happy that I did. I have only used it for 3 nights now, but each night she has been able to fall asleep within 5 minutes and stay asleep for 4-5 hours, quickly going back to sleep after feeding. I never would have believed it if I hadn't tried it out myself.
I will admit that I was a little worried about her being too warm in it (we live in Arizona). But I just put her to bed in a diaper and the blanket and nothing else. She seems to do fine, in fact, better than being in a receiving blanket ( less sweating). I would highly recommend this to any new parent, but especially if you have a "touchy" or fussy little one. I don't think I will use it beyond 3 months for developmental purposes, but for now it is a night saver!

After two months of sleepless nights, I ran into an old friend who had a one-year-old and recommended this blanket. Desperate, I ordered it right away. I watched the video on their website on how to wrap the baby up and I thought it was pretty easy. The first night we used it, I kept getting up every 3-4 hours, not because the baby was waking up but because that's what I was accustomed to doing. Actually, she used to get up every 2-3 hours throughout the night before. Anyway, every time I went to her room to check up on her, she was still sleeping! So on day 2, I relaxed a bit and slept through the night! I was shocked and excited! It truly worked! And the baby woke up so happy! We used this blanket as long as we could (6 months!).
I recommended it to my cousin when he and his wife had a baby and they said it didn't really work out for them. So I guess it doesn't work for everyone.

This really is a "miracle" blanket. After the first week or so we stopped swaddling with receiving blankets & just used a sleepsack. Now for some reason we were really lucky & our baby has always slept well from the first night on. We started swaddling her again when it seemed to be difficult to get our baby to go to sleep (once she was asleep she was great for a long time), but the receiving blankets are too small & she'd bust out. This was recommended to me by a mom I met at Babies R Us. It is the best! It is the softest cotton -- lightweight but still warm. Also no velcro, snaps or other additions... After a while it's so easy to wrap her up -- I could do it in my sleep. My favorite part is the morning (after she's slept the entire night) & I unwrap her & she slowly stretches her arms above her head & smiles :)Customer Review: LOVE THIS BLANKET!!

We purchased this when our daughter was 10 weeks old and I wish I had done it sooner! She kept breaking out of her regular swaddle and waking herself up when her arms moved. This keeps them in there and some mornings we would have to wake HER up! She was already sleeping through the night, but this gave us at least one extra hour. I recommend this blanket to anybody! The package says it's good up to 14 weeks, but she's 16 weeks today and we're still using it (she's tall, too...25 inches!). I guess the only reason to stop using it is if she grew out of it or began rolling onto her tummy, but she's a pretty sound sleeper and hasn't rolled in her sleep yet.
I will only buy this for friends' baby showers!
