Baby Products Reviews of Milkscreen: Home Test to Detect Alcohol in Breast Milk 20 PackCustomer Review: do what they're supposed to Summary: 4 Stars
I originally thought these strips would work more like litmus paper - you know, a different color for the degree of alcohol in my breastmilk. Guess I didn't really look at the description thoroughly, but not surprising in my sleep deprived state due to my newborn. If you're not dipping the strip directly into milk, it's a little tricky to saturate the pad on the test strip, but once you get the hang of it, these work as advertised. As a heads up, the color can take longer to develop if you don't fully saturate the pad.

...but not necessary unless you're binge drinking and then trying to breastfeed immediately afterward. I've discovered that the alcohol gets metabolized out of your milk with time, so if you have 1 - 3 beers before you go to bed and then wake up to feed your baby 4 hours later, they milkscreen will show that it's okay. But if you want to be on the safe side, this is a nice tool to have.
Customer Review: Thank goodness for these strips! Summary: 5 Stars
Its been a very long year since I had my last drink, and while I am not a regular drinker, just knowing I couldn't have one made my craving for a glass of wine that much more intense. Its great to know I don't always need to pump & dump like I thought I did... I hate seeing precious mommy milk go down the drain, now I know its not necessary. :) Cheers!!
Customer Review: Stoked someone thought of this! Summary: 5 Stars
I spent almost 10 long months pregnant (my baby was 3 weeks past his due date) and really missed my glass of wine or beer at night. I know that breastfeeding is the best thing I can do for my baby, but want to be sure he is not getting any boozy milk. This makes it so easy to check if your milk is clean.

Awesome product... now I can drink wine with dinner, and then test my breastmilk before baby drinks it. If it comes up colored on the tab, we just use previously frozen milk.
