Includes a single deluxe pump, Medela breastshield, stand, valve, AC transformer, container, lid and 3 membranes.Breastfeeding mothers, especially those who need a night off or who work outside the home, know how essential and personal a breast pump can be. I have three boys and have had to pump in the past. When I had my last baby (12/02/04) my nurse recommended this brand. I've used a manual in the past...Not for me! I've also rented a unit for $40 a month...It adds up!!! This time, I researched pumps and actually purchased one by Avent. After looking at the pump for two weeks, I decided to break down and spend the extra money for this entry level unit.
I've used it for over a week now and am very pleased with it. If you plan to work full time, go with a duel unit. I'm only working part time and the single works great! I've been able to express 2-3 oz. at one time (approx. 10 to 15 minutes of use) and I don't exceed level 2!!! I start out on the main level until I let down and begin to drip, then I increase the speed only up to two clicks because that happens to be my comfort level.
One thing I really like is the battery option. It allows me to pump on the go. I choose to pump in my car because the pump is kind of loud and I prefer to be alone where it's comfortable and quiet. I have pictures on my cell phone of my baby that I use to keep me company while I pump. I believe this helps me produce more. I also keep a soft lunch bag with a cold pack in the car on work days to keep my milk good until I can get home and store it. For me this pump is very user friendly and easy to clean. I keep a bottle of water and zip lock bag of wipes in the truck for cleaning on the go.
KEEP IN MIND... ALL women will produce different amounts of milk and WILL respond different to pumping and nursing respectively. Also, the more you pump and nurse, the more you will produce. If you skip a session at work, your your body will adjust to what it thinks it needs to produce for your baby. ALL you need to do to produce an adiquate supply of milk it maintain a consistant nursing schedule, eat right, drink your water, relax, stress doesn't help and look into products that will help you produce more. I drink a mothers milk tea that I purchase at Fred Meyer, my nurse said it is known to help increase supply... I don't have issues so I guess it helps. Also, I've heard that oatmeal and non alcoholic beer have something in them that helps increase production.
My rating was a 4 out of 5. I'm very happy with it... I've got a system that works for me... I wish it was about $20.00 less or came with more accessories. But knowing what I know now and using it several times now, I'd buy it again.
