With my first two children (now 12 and 8) I used a Playtex brand breast pump and was very successful. However, the models have changed over the years and I was hesitant to purchase a Playtex model after reading the reviews. Anyhow, I wound up purchasing this Medela breast however, there are a few draw backs to the unit:
1 - This breast pump is rather expensive.
2 - Bag is a bit heavy and bulky to move around or travel with.
3 - It is quite noisy.
4 - I feel like I am pumping the same amounts as I did with the more affordable Playtex model.
All-in-all I am pleased with the pump. It does the job. I do think that it is overpriced and in today's economy, that is a big issue. I wonder if I would have been just as successful with a Playtex model or a more affordable model.

This is an update to the below review I had written before my baby was born thus before actually usig it. it was great when it worked, but the fact that it broke down 3 weeks into using it, right when i was trying to establish my milk supply really let me down! especially seeming that i was struggling with producing enough and relied heavily on umping to stimulate production. such a let down. contributed to my baby blues, felt like i was being let down by a product i was supposed to trust. upset me so much.

Very impressed with how professional and prompt the delivery was. I would highly recommend this seller. For being an FPO, I didnt expect it to get here as quick as it did. Box was packaged very nicely. I am a very satisfied customer!

This product has really helped me as a working mom and has kept my milk supply up. All the good things others say in their reviews about the product are absolutely true. Some minor inconveniences for me were as follows:
1) The breast shields weren't perfect for me - I would have to press them in at different angles to completely empty my breast. To overcome this problem I bought a hands free pumping bra (which are snug due to the purpose) and that helped with the problem and my breast started emptying out without manipulation.
2) I think the connect of the tubes to the pump look flimsy. I was super careful with them because of this so nothing went wrong for me but i can imagine someone less careful having problems with this

I am SOOOOOO happy that I bought this one. I have been renting the hospital Lactina model for 5 months afraid of regretting buying one. Not only does it get as much milk as the Lactina, it gets milk faster and is more gentle than the Lactina! If your job offers an Employee Assistance Program you will get it even cheaper than online (including shipping and handling). I should have bought this sooner, I would have saved even more money. This pump definitely will help me reach my goal of providing at least 1 years worth of milk for my son. (This pump can encourage overproductivity of milk, which is great when you need to stock up if you have to be away from your child or can't nurse.)Would recommend all moms to get one.Customer Review: I get more hand-expressing

My aunt gave me this pump after I had been using the medela symphony for 1 month. The symphony was OK. But it was rented from the hospital. This pump in style doesn't get anything out! I can pump for 1/2 hour and still only have 1/2 and ounce!!! I get more milk in 5 minutes hand-expressing than with this pump! My aunt used the same one and she would have to pump for 45 minutes to and hour to get a full 4 ounces. My lactation consultant said it should only take about 10 to 15 minutes of pumping. I know my milk doesn't come in as much as most women, but this should at least rival hand-expression for what it costs. That, and it's really loud!! I'm glad I didn't have to pay for this because I would have been really mad.
