Customer Review: Great for first time moms and Great for your baby!

This is my first breast pump, so I don't have any comparisons to share. I read the reviews before purchasing this pump, and I am very pleased with it. The let down cycle works well, and the pumping strength is powerful and adjustable. Every woman is different in how long it will take to express milk. When my milk first "came in", pumping was inefficient and frustrating. With time, it gets better. It still takes me about 25 minutes to fully express, but that's just my mechanics...not the pump's!
I had always planned to breastfeed rather than pump, but instead I sit down 3 times a day and pump. Now everyone can participate in the bottle feeding...daddy, grandma, etc., and my baby girl still receives 100% breastmilk. This allows me to shower, go to the store, etc. without worrying about breastfeeding every 2 1/2 to 3 hours. (I did love the closeness of breastfeeding, and recommend it to everyone...this just worked out better for me!) Bottom line, this pump works well and I find it easy and comfortable to use.

I am very happy with this pump. It has been worth every cent even though it is quite pricey. Just compare the price with the money you save on formula. My baby is exclusively breastfed and this pump allowed me to stimulate my milk supply when he was a newborn. I chose medela because I had used the medela industrial pump in the hospital. I also like that it comes in a stylish bag that is discreet and stylish.
I love the cooler and the 10 breastmilk bags. I personally used the bags because I was very satisfied with the bags included with the pump.
I have seen complaints that there are no nipples with the bottles. That is not a problem for me since I use Avent bottles. I even have the converters that I screw on to the pump to allow me to pump right into the Avent bottles.
I pump at work in 10-15 minutes each session and am glad to say this Medela pump made it possible. Thanks Medela for making it possible for me to work, while still continuing to breastfeed my baby.

As I said, don't think twice this is the best pump in the market, I've been using it for 3 months now and I just love it, even though it is little expensive but it's worth every single penny. I am a stay home mom but I don't like to nurse in public, in addition I want my husband to help me in feeding the baby, so this was my best solution; I pump before I leave home and it doesn't take me long, 10 minutes max I would say. This pump keeps the milk flow and it is easy to use, you might experience some irritation at first but that is normal from breast feeding but after a month it will get much easier.
I first got the double ease breast pump thank God I didn't open it before the baby came. A lady in the hospital came and showed me all different breast pumps and gave me a review about each one so I believe that made me make a better choice. I bought this pump from the hospital and I returned the double ease one.
My conclusion LADIES:
JUST GO FOR IT AND DON'T THINK TWICE YOU WILL LOVE IT!!!!!! TRUST ME!

In response to the reviewer who said that she had her transformers replaced for free..this is not true. I JUST got off the phone with a representative who said that they will not replace the transformer unless it is within 3 months of the purchase date. She refused to help me and said that I needed to purchase a new one for 24.99, which I think is a lot after paying over 300 for the pump.
Either way, I have been pumping for 7 months. It worked GREAT when I first got it, but as time has passed, it has worked less and less well, even after changing the membranes, etc. One of the silicone tubings broke a few months ago, and just last night the transformer just quit working altogehter.
I purchased the pump with the idea of using it to pump with all of my children, but I have only used it for 7 months and it is already broken. If I have to replace the transformer every 7 months, the 300 dollar investment doesnt seem worth it. It is probably best to rent!!

Customer Review: very helpful but a few setbacks

I already have the Medela Harmony but I got the Pump in Style Advanced to increase my milk supply and to maintain it when I go back to work. It does is job, but I don't like the noise it makes, making me rethink pumping where I could be overheard, and the battery pack, which ought to be a rechargeable lithium battery, uses a large handful of AAs instead- which according to the manual, allow for 10 to 12 pumping sessions - pretty expensive to replace so many batteries (ten), and where do you get a charger for that many rechargeable batteries. To me, it's stupid and a big disadvantage, because I might not have access to a private space WITH an electrical outlet at work. Also, it's very unwieldy, to hold two bottles and adjust the speed- although they dio have a hands free kit which I don't have. It's faster than single pumping, and less wear and tear on your hands, but I perceive that it pumps about the same quantity for me as the Harmony does. They should also include nipples with the four bottles they include.
