I love the Medela Pump and Save bags, but these bags (with the adapter) are terrible. It is extremely difficult to pour the milk out after you defrost it because of the hole at the top (and because the top of the bag is much longer than the previous bags. It is also difficult to pour the milk into the bag if the bag isn't hooked up to the pump. I don't have a Medela pump, but I have liked their breastmilk bags much better than the Lansinoh bags. Maybe they would work better if you have a Medela pump and can hook the bag right up to the pump - though the accuracy of the amount on the bags has never been quite right. Either way, I do not recommend these bags and am hoping Medela continues to offer the bags that don't include the adapter.Customer Review: Perfect!

I am rather surprised by the negative reviews this product has gotten. I absolutely love these bags. Typically, I pump into a medela container (that comes with the pump) and move it into the bag just before freezing. These bags actually hold up to 6 ounces--and if you purchase a milk storage container (which keeps the bags of milk upright and flat), I think you will find a fairly foolproof system.
What I usually do is thaw the bag and simply snip the top corner with scissors to pour the milk into a bottle...this ensures no spills or waste. And as far as leakage, I have NEVER had any such problem.
I have tried other milk storage supplies, and these bags are hands down the best. I only wish they would sell them in 100 ct.

Pros and Cons with this product - but the pros outweigh the cons by far.
PRO: It's the only bag I know of that you can attach right to the pump and avoid the extra step of pouring out of bottles when you are done. This saves precious time when pumping at work!
I also like the flared bottom that allows me to stand the bag up on the counter.
CON: I'm sure this is the same with all freezer storage bags. If there is any milk in the seam when you freeze it can lead to leaking and spilling when defrosting. If you are going to freeze it, make sure to dry the zip lock seam with a tissue or papertowel before you close it and double check the seal. Once I figured that out, I did not have any problems.

I purchased these bags assuming that the higher cost of the Medela bags would be justified by outstanding quality. I was wrong. I spent so much of my time pumping so that my son could drink stored breastmilk after he was weaned to a bottle and now I see all of the effort and those precious minutes of pumping leaking out of the bags. I let the bags defrost in the refrigerator. So many of the bags have leaked and made a mess out of the refrigerator and its contents that I now put the bags that are defrosting into a 9 x 13 pan to catch the leaking milk. At least 1 out of every ten bags has leaked out of the bottom of the bag. My recommendation would be to buy a cheaper bag and not to be surprised if the bags leak.Customer Review: Good Product

The medela bags are a good product. I like that they stand when full. They seal and freeze very well. I have also tried the Lansinoh brand and find he medela are more durable (the plastic is not as soft and easy to nick as the Lansinoh). They are a bit costly however and the medela company should consider better perforation on the top of the bag where you tear off the section that you can use to pump directly into the bag. Although you can easily pump into the bags, I find it difficult to accurately measure the volume in each bag so I pump into the bottles and transfer to the bags. If you are not going to freeze and are just pumping for the next day or so, you could save money by using the Lansinoh brand.
