This pump works so well. It is very effective and comfortable. I love the portability and ease of use. I am a working mom and the pump in style is so convenient for work. Being able to double pump saves me a lot of time. I would highly recommend it. I had tried a cheaper brand pump that didn't work well and hurt when I pumped. I have now used this pump for 2 babies in 2 years. I originally bought it when I had my first child. Before purchasing a pump, I asked around, and this pump was the one most of my BFing friends and family recommended. I reluctantly paid the higher price for this model, but I have not regretted it at all! This pump is worth its weight in gold to me as it's enabled me to pump thousands of ounces of milk for my children in a very short amount of time! I am able to pump 8-12 ounces in less than 5-10 minutes, usually, using the double electric pump. I love being able to pump on either one or both sides at the same time depending on whether or not the baby is also nursing then. The 2 minute "let down" mode at the start of each pumping session seems to be very useful, and often it brings my milk down so quickly that I am able to push the button to manually switch over to the "regular mode" in less than a minute! It's very easy to hook up and disconnect all the parts. Very easy to sterilize all the parts, too, using the Medela microwave steam sterilization bags. I do not use the Medela milk storage bags, however, as I prefer the Lansinoh milk storage freezing bags. The bottles the pump comes with are fine--I use them to pump into AND to feed the baby with. I just had to purchase separate nipples and bottle covers to put the nipple in (the plastic round part that screws onto the bottle top and holds the nipple). All in all, this is a GREAT purchase and will save you so much time, energy and hassle if you are a frequent pumper. This has enabled me to actually take a nap once in a while as someone else can feed the baby with my milk from time to time now!Customer Review: great double pump

I purchased this a couple months ago. I cringed at spending this much on any breast pump, but needed to protect my supply. The double pumping is great and the backpack style is really nice. Everything works well so far.
Things I particularly like are: backpack style; zippered closure for pump body to quiet the sound a little; icepack container; bottles and lids; can use in vehicle with a car adapter (not included) making travel-pumping possible and easy.
Things that could use improvement: hoses often get condensation in them during pumping; top compartment needs to be larger to hold the icepack storage bag AND the pumping parts AND bottles all together (I have to squeeze everything in and try to fit bottles in side pouches instead); wish the pump was quieter, and had a one-touch button to go BACK to stimulation mode without having to turn the dial off and then on again. I also wish the icepack container were slightly bigger to hold pump parts between pumpings when they can't be washed right away.
I have not used the battery pack or the manual pumper and don't plan to, but I guess they're nice to have just in case. I much prefer the Harmony manual pump if I'm going to go manual though.

I have had a very good experience with this breast pump. It comes with everything you need in one package, including an attachment for doing manual pumping if you need to, a battery pack in case you don't have access to regular AC power, and a cooler for milk transportation. It is discreet and easy to travel with, as everything fits into the backpack.
This pump uses two-phase suction, which I have found to be very effective. For the first two minutes of the pumping session it pumps softly and quickly to stimulate milk let-down, and then switches to longer, stronger pumps that collect milk very quickly. My preemie baby and I had trouble when we started nursing and I'm positive that had I not gotten such a high-quality pump, I would have had much more difficulty establishing my supply. I can't emphasize the importance of getting a high-quality breast pump enough.

I found that this phased style pump is not as effective in quantity of milk pumped as the older style Medela, which I do recommend. However, if you are very sensitive, this one is probably more comfortable than the older style pump. The bag is very handy, but not worth the price.
