Baby Products Reviews of Medela® CSF BagsCustomer Review: Not the best..... Summary: 3 Stars
When you buy the Pump In Style Advanced, they send you a few of these bags. I had tried the Gerber Seal'n go bags, and they suck! I prefer the Lansinoh bags (only had one faulty pack). The Medela CSF bags had this pain in the rear twist tie junk, and I've had them leak (I have two in the freezer that were sucessful). I've never used that little tear or cut thing....just take off the twist tie! I had a couple of incdents that I go to thaw them, and during their stay in the freezer, something bumped them, and then poked a hole in the plastic, and during thawing got contaminated (this was my problem with all the Gerbers!). They're okay in a pinch though.
Customer Review: Terrible product for milk storage Summary: 1 Stars
I started using these bags that came with my Pump in Style pump and HATED THEM. I feel like writing Medula and telling them they need to rethink their design. They expect you to be able to attach the bags to the pump things with a twist tie and then manipulate them without getting milk all over. The instructions actually say to prop them up in a cup or something to prevent from leaking??? Im sorry but pumping is a chore in itself and there is nothing worse than opening your freezer to LEAKED milk that you painstakingly gathered. Try the Gerber brand bags..they have a neat zip lock top and you can safely stack them on top of each other in the freezer!!
Customer Review: horrible twist ties Summary: 1 Stars
These bags are HORRIBLE. You have to fumble with the top to open the bag (not sanitary) then once you pour/pump the milk in, you have to put it in a mug to tie and freeze!! Who has time to wait for it to freeze to remove the mug!?!! Also dealing with the twist tie is a nightmare and it's impossible to get all the air out.
Also, The bags take up too much room in the freezer. I LOVE the bags that can lie flat like Lansinoh (much easier to pour, freeze, and unthaw as they can lay flat). You can buy 25 Lansinoh bags for $6 at Target, and they're much much better quality
I'm throwing the rest of mine away. They're totally useless
Customer Review: No problems, good storage Summary: 5 Stars
I haven't used any other storage bags but I've read many reviews at many different sites about different bags. I decided on purchasing the medela bags since I'm using a medela pump and think they are great. They are a little awkward the first several times you use them but ultimately work very well. They fit right over the end of the pump-mechanism-thing and then all you have to do is put them in a cup to keep them upright. Rolling the top over does NOT decrease the amount of milk you put in each one--each bag is designed to hold 5 oz and each one does. I have had no problems with leaking and milk freezes solidly without any excess air.
Customer Review: works fine for me Summary: 4 Stars
I have a full time job and I pump 3 times at work. Yes, you have to do some setting up for the liners, such as the twist tie, but after about a week, it only takes less than a minute to do. After your done you just seal it up. I haven't had any leaks. you do have to be careful when you are pouring it into the bottle as the stream of milk can miss the opening, but after the first spill you can figure out the right way to do it. I think these are great as they take up less space than bottles. I bring home 6 bags everyday and that would be too many bottles to handle. If you have any questions just email me. I love these bags.
