Baby Products Reviews of Medela Breastmilk Feeding and Storage SetCustomer Review: love these bottles Summary: 5 Stars
I have several of the 4 ounce bottles for my son (4/10). I love that I can screw them right onto my medela hand pump and then put the storage lid on and put it in the fridge to either end up freezing it in a seperate bag or using it for feeding/cereal the next day. These bottles are BPA free, that being said they feel a little flimsy and not as hard as some of the bottles that I had for my other son. They are pretty durable for being a softer plastic. My son also took well to the slow flow nipples included with the 4 ounce bottles.
Customer Review: love these but wish they were easier to clean Summary: 5 Stars
I have about 25 of these bottles, and not one has ever leaked. Ever. Nipples are a little short--but that is perfect for breastfed babies. The slow flow nipples are not that slow, especially for breastfed babies 0-3 months old. Seems perfect for breastfed babies 3-6 months old. Medela also sells faster flow nipples if that is what you prefer. Perfect fit to the Medela breastpumps. Only wish that Medela also sold these BPA-free bottles in a wide neck version (for milk storage only) so that they were easier to clean.
Customer Review: Safe and tested choice Summary: 4 Stars
Medela, well... they are the name to trust when it comes to products like these. So, assume everything is perfect and here's what little we have to complain about that has happened, so you are prepared:
- sometimes the nipples will tilt and create a little opening where the milk will escape while feeding; prevent this by not applying to much angular pressure
- sometimes the seal (possibly on purpose to allow air) of the bottle caps isn't perfect, and a bit of milk can drip out
Customer Review: good but you can find cheaper just as good Summary: 3 Stars
So I ordered these because I have the pump and style and the the little storage bottles by Medela were not filling my baby up any more. She likes a smaller nipple on her bottles and I knew these would fit. I read on another review here that the Parents Choice bottles also fit, so I picked up a 3 pack from Wal-Mart for $4, and they fit the pump and she loves them. I geuss it is just personal preference but I could have saved like $10 bucks just getting the Parents Choice bottles.
Customer Review: Product is fine, price is too high Summary: 3 Stars
If all you want is something to pump into and/or store breastmilk in, this won't let you down - but you can get many more bottles for your money going with the 4oz evenflo or gerber bottles, both of which come in BPA free versions. (The colored plastic evenflo are BPA free, not the clear plastic ones) Both brands will screw onto Medela pump hardware and are light enough to do hands-free pumping.
