Baby Products Reviews of Medela Breastmilk Feeding and Storage SetCustomer Review: These Bottles are ALWAYS Leaking! Summary: 1 Stars
I must say that I am very disappointed with these bottles. When our baby was born, I wanted to buy the Phillips Avent bottles. My wife pushed for, and we ultimately bought, a ton of these Medela bottles because they are "BPA-free".
I preferred the Avent bottles to these because I am not crazy about the size or design of the Medelas. If those were the only problems, I would accept it because the Medelas are BPA-free.
But the major problem here is leaking. Nearly every bottle and lid/nipple set we have screw on poorly and unevenly. As a result they leak, and my baby and I are COVERED in breastmilk or formula after EVERY feeding.
We spent a lot of money on these, and we are very disappointed. So disappointed that we are going to Babies 'r Us today to buy a brand new set of Philips' new line of Avent BPA-free bottles.
Customer Review: The most UNbreast like bottle I own, from the company that makes breast pumps Summary: 2 Stars
Got one of these bottles free from Medela. The bonus, of course, is that they screw right on the pump. The downside is that the nipple is too long and the nipple base narrow- both very unlike an actual breast. I've had two breast fed babies, neither particular about bottles. I didn't have this one with the first baby, but this is the only bottle my second baby REFUSES to drink from. Get anything wide mouth/wide nipple for a breast fed baby. We've done fine with the Playtex nursers, Soothie bottles, Avent, and Nuk. Playtex, in particular, sells the pump to bottle adaptor in the breast milk storage kit (~$8), so you can pump right into Playtex wide mouth bottles with that and baby is MUCH happier with the nipple.
Customer Review: A Must-Have accessory for Medela Pump Summary: 5 Stars
As a first time Mom, I had to bust out my new Medela Pump-In-Style by midnight the day I came home with my baby daughter. Instead of dumping the milk into another bottle and losing some milk along the way, I recommend you purchase the Feeding and Storage set which gives you a set of nipples that you can use to screw right onto the Medela pump container that comes with the pump, or the bottles in this kit for storage and feeding. The bottles are easy to read the amounts on the side, and you can pump directly into them, screwing on a nipple/cap when done for travel or those late night husband feedings. Anyone with a Medela Breast Pump should consider this product for easy feedings and storage.
Customer Review: Ok but not the best Summary: 3 Stars
I got these bottles with my Medela breast pump and storage set. They're convenient to pump into since they attach right to the breast pump, and they're a nice size since my milk production has increased (the littler 2.5 oz bottles aren't big enough anymore). However, I don't use them for feeding. The nipple was way too fast for my newborn, even though it's supposed to be a slower flow. I sometimes use my Playtex nipples with these bottles, but you have to screw it on very tight or else it does leak. By the way, my Playtex VentAire bottles also screw onto my breast pump...
Customer Review: Look out, they leak! Summary: 1 Stars
I bought these bottles because I knew they would fit my Medela pump and I didn't really have time to research bottles (who has time with a baby, right?!) The set came with slow flow nipples. After we had to upgrade to the medium flow ones (sold separately) just like some of the other reviewers have stated, the nipples and collars don't screw on securely to the bottles and milk leaks out everywhere. It actually looks like the nipples are too small to fit the collars. So disappointed! I'll make sure to find the time to research their replacements!
