Customer Review: Worth the Money!

This car seat is AWESOME!!! I wish I would have purchased this seat first. I didn't want to spend over $200 on a car seat so I purchased the Alpha Omega Elite, thinking it would be a good purchase. I couldn't have been more disappointed in a product. On the Alpha Omega, the buckle was so difficult to use and the straps kept getting twisted. In addition, my son's head kept falling forward whenever he was sleeping (in the rear-facing position). After doing more research I went back to Babies R Us and purchased the Britax Marathon. The buckle is easy to use, the straps don't get tangled, and my son's head rests comfortably on the back of the seat whenever he is napping. Plus, it fits perfectly in my Pontiac Grand Am. I wish I would have purchased this seat first. It was well worth the extra $100. Don't go cheap when it comes to a car seat. Spend the extra money to get a QUALITY product. My baby is almost 4 months old and would scream her head off every time we took her in the car. It was horrible...I tried not to go anywhere! We had the Graco Snug Ride Infant Carrier. Finally, I decided to try a new seat after trying everything else known to man. I did a lot of research. I knew I was going with a Britax - now the decision was which one? I narrowed it down to a Marathon or a Decathalon. We went to Babies R Us and the salesman told us that on the Decathalon for some reason Britax removed the side bars which made it much less safe than the Marathon. Marathon it is! Now which pattern? We went with the Platinum because the material will keep our baby much cooler than the other fabric ones they have as we live in FL (although I love the cute patterns they have). We have had our son in a Britax roundabout since he was 3 months old. We LOVED this seat. We were happy with the reviews and he was comfortable and safe. We recently purchased a Britax Marathon since he is now 3 years old. He is able to reach down to the release and easily pull up on it and can make his straps loose without me even knowing he is doing it which is extremely unsafe !!The roundabout has a push button that he is unable to reach and press so that worked to keep him safe. I went to the Britax website and saw that this is a common complaint, WHAT???? It seems that we are to teach our children not to unlatch it by themselves... I have an overactive toddler and I cannot watch him while I am driving. I wanted a carseat instead of a booster so he could not unbuckle himself. I am now looking for a different brand reluctantly.Customer Review: Worth the money

This car seat is expensive but worth every penny. Besides the fact the high safety rating this seat has received. This car seat can be used from infant all the way to toddler up to 65lbs. So if you do the math, you'll see that this seat actually works out to be cheaper than buying the 3 seats (infant, toddler, and booster)seperately. My son is very comfy in the seat, he slept the entire 3 hours on our road trip both going and coming (10 months old at that time). The cover is easy to come off for cleaning, unlike others that have to be unscrewed. This is a feature I never thought about when looking for a car seat. The seat has great padding for baby's comfort. I need to buy 2 more car seats for the grandparents and I would definitely invest the money into these seats. Our son is a big boy for his age. At six months he had already grown out of his Graco infant car seat. My husband and I didn't want to have to keep upsizing car seats every time he hit a growth spurt, so we decided to go with the seat that would last the longest. Sure, it's more expensive than the other options on the market, but when we put him in the Marathon (rear facing) he was so comfortable. We were worried that with his young age he wouldn't be able to sit upright without his head falling forward in the toddler car seats. With the reclining back of the Marathon seat however, he's safe and cozy during the whole ride. His head even stays in place when asleep! No head positioner's needed. We're extremely satisfied with this carseat and we recommend it to all of our friends with children.
