I bought this because I needed something that would take a temperature fast since my 4 and 1 year old boys are not patient enough to wait for the digital thermometers to take their temperature. It was a little more expensive than I would normally spend, but I think it's worth it. It was easy to set up and takes fairly good temperatures. Sometimes a little high or low, so you have to take a couple of temperatures to compare. It is so easy to take their temperatures now and they don't mind the few seconds it takes. I would definitely recommend it.
