Customer Review: good rocket ship for child's imagination

After watching Wallace and Gromit's quest for cheese, my 3 year old nephew loved the rocket ship. So for his birthday I was searching for something similar. Other rocket ship toys I saw were a bit too realistic - maybe good for older kids but too serious for little kids. This particular ship is whimsical, has neat little accessories, and is very simple to figure out. The only complaint was that parts came undone, but you could easily snap them back on. But my nephew loved the fun design and within minutes had multiple adventurous space travels with his astronaut friends, the dog, and the moon-buggy.Customer Review: Great toy for imaginative preschoolers

My grandson, a Toy Story fan, has a fascination with rocket ships. We purchased this toy for his 3rd birthday several months ago, and he plays with it every day! He creates different imaginary scenarios with dialogue and sound effects! The people and accessories are durable and perfect for hours of imaginary play. The age recommendation of 18 months and up is probably on target as children play with toys differently at various ages. As a grandmother, I am always looking for toys that will be played with and enjoyed long after the wrapping paper and ribbons are thrown away, and this it!Customer Review: The doors need work but it is a great concept

We got this for our 2 1/2 year old for Christmas and it was probably his favorite gift. It is sturdy and the pieces are all the right size for little hands. The only problem with this set is that the top door (to the cockpit) and the bottom door (where the vehicle is stored) fall off very easily. They simply will not stay on during normal play, in fact they basically fall off if you open them. We are either looking for doors before playing with it or just playing without them, in which case you can't hold in the astronauts or their vehicle. We ordered the Lift-Off Rocket for my daughter for Christmas and I was so pleased with the item. The make of the toy is very child friendly and there are no small pieces to worry about. The sound effects are outstanding and the alien really adds to the whole space theme. The space car rolls around smoothly and nothing is falling apart. The characters are a perfect size for a childs hands and the count down is a great sound effect tool to use to teach your child how to count down when a real spaceship takes off. There is a lot of color and noise to attract the child. There are lots of hand's on spatial intellect promoters also. It was enthusastically received by a one and a three year old alike.
There's really not a lot of highlights with it. It had no instructions about how to use it, although it was simply put together and most of it was apparent. It did include batteries which was nice.
If I had it to do over, I would purchase it again. Even though I'm sure neither the 1 or the 3 year old yet really knows what the "Rocket" represents.
