Baby Products Reviews of Lift-Off RocketCustomer Review: Lots of fun but worst construction... ever! Summary: 3 Stars
My kids have been playing with this toy for almost 3 years. It hasn't gotten a moments rest. When anyone comes over to the house they head straight for the rocket. We also have the moon rover and science lab thingy. The vehicles roll so nicely and it seems like it is constructed very well. Since day one, however, the doors of the rocket have been falling off. My husband tried to fix the top door - and he's a very handy guy - but nothing will keep them from popping off. Perhaps that is the point - to make it easier for kids to open the doors. It is very frustrating for the adults in our family who are constantly finding the doors lying around the house. I don't recommend this toy to anyone I know even though it is a favorite at our house.
Customer Review: 10,9,8....Blast Off Summary: 5 Stars
I gave my 4 year old grandson this gift for his birthday and he was wild about it. It seems very sturdy, has room for imagination and even though it needs 2 AA batteries, it needed no batteries for him to start playing with it once I got it out of the box. His 2 1/2 year old brother was happy to play with some of the characters as well and they immediately started off with their rocket adventure. The small pieces were not so small as to worry me with the younger child and they were sturdy enough to withstand a momentary bout with the year old retriever who wanted to get in on the play. Once we dipped it in hot soapy water to clean it off, it was as good as new and ready for play.
I'm very glad I purchased this item for my grandson.
Customer Review: Our son is now 6...and STILL loves this rocket! Summary: 5 Stars
We bought this rocket for our son's 3rd birthday. Over three years later, he still enjoys playing with it! He has always loved the way the rocket counts down and then continues to add cool sound effects as he makes the rocket fly through the air. The astronauts and accessories were perfect while he was younger, though these days he's more likely to use Playmobil or Star Wars action figures as passengers. This rocket has given our youngest child many happy hours of imaginative play over the past few years, and I am so glad we purchased it. I am also impressed by the rocket's durability, despite lots of not-so-gentle excursions. One of the doors came off around a year ago, but I still think that overall, the durability is pretty terrific.
Customer Review: It's a hit! Summary: 5 Stars
Parents, grandparents, godparents, aunts and uncles, buy this toy for your kids. It's the International Playthings Lift-Off Rocket. You can get it on Amazon. It's an awesome toy your kids will actually play with! I bought this for my three year old son for his birthday and plays with it daily. Even my six year old loves to play with it!
It's well constructed, durable and comes with an off-switch. Forget those crappy licensed toys (Dora, Elmo, etc.). THIS toy is worth your money!
No, I don't work for this toy company. I just love this toy that much and I'm sick of all the crappy toys you find it major retail stores these days.
Customer Review: A Lot of Fun Summary: 5 Stars
Bought as a Christmas present, this toy has been a hit with both of my boys. One thing that bugged me at first was that the doors come off pretty easily, then I began to see it as a benefit when the boys would be running with it and trip and fall. If the doors didn't pop off relatively easily, there could be a problem with them causing injuries. The doors slip easily right back into place. The only beef I have with the product is the tires on the moon buggy. My 20 month old was able to pick little pieces off of the rubber tires creating a choking hazard, so needless to say, the moon buggy isn't part of playtime anymore. Overall a good product though!
