Customer Review: Great toy! A favorite in our house

This is a fantastic toy! When we first received it from my in-laws at Christmas for my then 18-month old, I thought "great, another noisy toy that will break in a week." It's now six months of solid use later and still looks and sounds like new. For the first two or three months both my kids (1-1/2 and 4-1/2) played with it on a near-daily basis. They still play with it at least once or twice weekly. I love that most of the parts fit inside the rocket (wish the alien and the crater fit, but we tuck them underneath). The hinges to the doors are made to come off without breaking in the event the kids get really rough with it, and easily go back on. Also, I think the alien glows in the dark (or at least seemed to when I saw it in my room the other night--might've just been a weird light thing going on). Like others have mentioned, don't be scared by the price--this is a great toy--destined to become a classic.Customer Review: Awesome toy, but top door falls off too easily

I bought this toy even after reading the reviews that said the doors fall off, hoping it wouldn't happen to us. Well, it does. And to all those saying "They are supposed to fall off", I say, maybe they are supposed to "pop" off when given some pressure, but these doors just fall off without any sort of pressure. Especially the top door. The bottom and middle door have only come off a few times, and I think that was operator error, and I'm glad they do pop off when needed. But the top door falls off all the time, it just doesn't seem to have enough grip.
Anyway, my son loves the toy and accessories and has played with it constantly since Christmas. So I do recommend this rocket, because it is the best rocket out there for younger kids, but just be warned that you will be asked to put the door back on numerous times while playing.

The picture on this toy does not do it justice. It's the perfect rocket ship for children age 1 1/2, 18 months, to at least 5. It's very solid, big, has noises (two types) and lights up. It has very few parts and those that are attached to the ship, the doors, come off very easily so they can be attached back very easily. Also, only a few extra parts, like the people and the dog, but they all fit in the rocket so you don't lose them.
The only caveat is the alien that doesn't fit in the ship and really is kind of boring looking. My children immediately dismissed it.
But really, I can't believe this rocket ship isn't known about more but when trying to do a search on rocket ship I can see that it doesn't show up so finding that it even existed took quite a long while.
I'm so glad I found it, as are my two boys.

This is a FABULOUS toy!! My husband and son enjoy themselves immensely. My son is 15 months and plays with it by himself. His sisters (13,11 and 3) all like to play with it also. Our ONLY problem is that the doors come off easily. The top door came off within 30 minutes of being out of the package. It took a little longer (two weeks) for the bottom door to come off. They ARE able to be put back on. However, they do come off again...and again... This has not hampered our enjoyment of the rocket. Overall this has been a good investment and it will be a keepsake toy for our family.
The package was shipped from Right Start #32. The packaging was flimsy and damaged when it arrived but the contents were all accounted for and there appeared to be no physical damage to the actual products.

My kids love this toy!! I purchased this over four years ago for my daughter who was into rocket ships at the time. Now my son plays with it. The figures are adorable and the count down to blast-off is a lot of fun. They can fly the ship themselves along with the flying sound. It's not overly heavy, about medium weight for kids, my two-yo can lift/swing it.
It has a little toilet in it (under the bed) which helped me potty train my daughter, believe it or not. We would put a figure on the potty (usually the dog) then go to the bathroom. Sounds silly but it worked.
Definately worth the money and I would buy it again. I didn't have to because this toy is soooo durable!! It has been dropped many times and never broke.
