Baby Products Reviews of Leachco Safer Bather Infant Bath Pad, Blue FishCustomer Review: We love this product! Summary: 5 Stars
For the first two weeks our daughter was home we used the Safer Bather on the kitchen counter for her sponge baths. I loved it then because I could lay her down comfortably and it's not big and bulky like the plastic tubs. Once she was a little older and we could give her more of a bath, I was skeptical about how well it would work, so much so that I ran out and bought a hard plastic tub. We used the plastic tub for two nights (which was really difficult - our daughter is very little and it was hard to hold her in place). Then I wised up and tried the Safer Bather in our bathtub. She LOVED it. She just relaxes on the soft pillow with warm water all around her while I have two hands free to get her cleaned up. It's GREAT. Plus, I'm really impressed with the company. We lost the plastic hook to hang it up with, so I called the company. They sent me a new one in a couple of days. Very impressive. Other positives - it's very inexpensive and easy to throw in the trunk for road trips.
Customer Review: I truly love this tub, but . . . Summary: 4 Stars
I do truly love this tub! It's soft, absorbs the heat from the water to keep my daughter warm. Even as a preemie, weighing only 4 1/2 lbs, she fit in it nicely, was well supported and it made ME comfortable giving her a bath. At 4 months old, I can't imagine bathing her in anything else. She's very mobile, loves to splash & kick -- but she's safely ensconced! I don't have to worry that she's going to slip out of my hands or down into the water. My only complaint is that it's difficult to get the water out of this tub. Wring & wring & wring and it's still wet, is heavy when it's wet and I don't have anywhere to hang it to let it drip-dry. Yes, there is a loop on the top, but it won't fit over my shower head. It's still wet the next day when I go to give her a bath, then it's difficult to warm it up because the water it's retained is cold -- wring & wring & wring & wring. As I said, I LOVE IT, but it's something to keep in mind when looking for yourself.
Customer Review: No mildew problems, great product Summary: 5 Stars
We have loved this bather, and after 3 months of use have not experienced any mildew problem. Note that we have used baby soaps, Dove, and baby shampoo with this product, and weren't particularly careful about rinsing off any product when bathtime was over, and still did not have a mildew problem. This bather worked great in the sink, and we started baby off in it before she was a week old. She has always felt very secure and comfortable in the bather b/c it is soft and conforms to her body, and supports her head and neck. She has even almost fell asleep in it during her bath! At around 3 weeks, we started placing the safer bather inside our regular bathtub, and I have loved the ease and convenience of using this bather inside our regular tub. I also love that it stores easily, just hanging on our shower curtain rod to dry. At 13 weeks and 15 lbs., our daughter is beginning to outgrow it, but she is ready to move on to a larger tub. I will really miss this bather though.
Customer Review: Finally Summary: 4 Stars
I had a plastic, self contained baby tub when my daughter was first born, but by her 4th month, she was too big for it. I looked every where for an alternative, and walked past this one several times. I finally broke down and bought it, figuring if it was awful, at least I was only out $15. To my suprise, it is amazing! I wish I had it earlier. My daughter could not sit up yet, so she had to lay in it, but it made life much easier. It dries quickly, does not get moldy. Now that she can sit up, she can put her legs in the middle holes and support herself. My only complaint is that when my 6 month old reaches for a toy or something, the tub does not support her enough to prevent toppling. It will begin to float a bit, making it easy for her to slide around. But that's minor. I have a hand on her at all times anyway. She loves it! I have been known to use it myself as a back pillow when I have the rare opportunity to take a bath! A definate must have for new parents!
Customer Review: Wish I had bought it sooner! Summary: 5 Stars
Love this!!!!!!! I have a regular baby bath tub and I used it with my son for the first month or so and it was a real chore to bathe him. You're so busy trying to keep them from sliding to one side or getting water in their ears. You have to keep one hand on the baby at all times so trying to wash with only one hand is very difficult. Then I saw this bather on Amazon.com and I read the reviews. I decided to try it and I'm so glad I did. My son is 3 months old now and we use this bather for every bath. Mostly, I just set it inside of the baby bath tub. He fits right down inside and there is no more sliding around. I am free to use two hands to wash him and he stays warm during the bath so no more screaming. Other times I lay it in our bath tub and he just lays there staring up at me. I have already told all my pregnant friends about this safer bather. I just love it because it helps make his bath time a good bonding time...not something we're both dreading.
