Baby Products Reviews of Leachco Safer Bather Infant Bath Pad, Blue FishCustomer Review: Great product! Takes all the tension out of bath time. Summary: 5 Stars
I am a first time mom. And as you other 1st timers know, there is a long list of "Oh, my God, can I do this?" kind of things. And the "real" bath in the sink vs. the non-threatening sponge bath was on the top of my list. My daughter, Ruby was born this winter, and I live in New England. Our pediatrician is all for letting a winter baby have sponge baths for at least the first 6 weeks. So for the last six weeks, I've been quietly prepping my self for the big day. It came yesterday. And it was great! Ruby had a great time. The bath pillow fits so securely in the sink...and the tub. It soaks up the bath water, so it remains warm for baby. The top of the pillow is elevated so it keeps baby's head out of the water. It provides a non slip surface. Ruby didn't budge, except for the giggling. I felt so confident and comfortable. This product is simply fantastic...for me and my baby. It made it so easy to help her have a good first time bath experience. And it helped me to take a deep breath and enjoy it too!
Customer Review: My son and I love this bather!! Summary: 5 Stars
I originally received one of those hard plastic tubs at my baby shower and I bathed my son in that for the first month. I got tired of him slipping down and decided to buy the Safer Bather after a friend's recommendation. Let me tell you, this bather is great! My son loves baths now. With the plastic tub he would just scream and cry during baths and I would dread giving him one. Now he loves it. He's now 3.5 months old and 26 inches long, so his feet now hang off of it into the water and he loves it! He kicks his feet and splashes in the tub. He no longer slips down into the water with this bather. I use it in my regular bathtub by putting about 3 inches of water in the tub. Be sure to rinse it thoroughly after use to prevent mildew from forming. I learned that the hard way, but I just used Clorox 2 in the washing machine to clean it. It came out like brand new after washing it! The hook to hang it with is a great way to dry it after rinsing it. I highly recommend this bather over ANY of those hard, plastic tubs.
Customer Review: Comfy for Baby and Peace of Mind for Mommy Summary: 5 Stars
I truly loved this cushion! I was so worried about putting my newborn into one of those large baby baths. She was so small and floppy that I constantly worried about her slipping out of the mesh meant to hold her safely in place. When I received this cushion at my baby shower, I was a bit reluctant that something so simple could do the trick. Boy was I wrong! Not only is this the simplest way to clean my baby, but it also makes bedtime bathing a real treat! It is so soft and plush that it completely relaxes my baby. She can hang out in comfort as I play with her, talk with her, and soap her up. And, I don't worry about her slipping or sliding around in the bath since she is completely relaxed and stationary. Another benefit of this cushion is that it fits in my sink or bathtub. No more lugging around those bulky baby bathtubs or messing with draining out dirty water every time she has an accident in the tub. This is a great buy and a must have for any mom!!!! It makes bath time a true bonding time!
Customer Review: Buying this again for second child Summary: 5 Stars
I absolutely loved this bather when my daughter was born (she is now almost 4) and now that we have a second baby I am buying it again. It supports the baby perfectly due to the fact that it has plenty of padding on both sides and in the head area. Even when my daughter got too big to use it as shown in the picture I still put it in the tub so she would have something soft and stable to sit on. She LOVED it.
Some parents have been complaining about mildew. From personal experience I NEVER had a problem with mildew and I have a very sensitive nose where mildew is concerned. I can't stand the smell and have been known to rewash things several times to get that awful stuff out. We used this pad for about 2 years with my daughter and all I ever did was rinse it thouroughly after each use and hang it up IMMEDIATELY after using it. It got washed once a month religiously in HOT, soapy, vinegar water (nothing works better on soap scum) and that was it. Easy maintenance, great product!
Customer Review: I wish I'd had one of these for the first three babies! Summary: 5 Stars
My mother went shoping with me when I was looking for a tub for my 8 week premature son, and at the time, she thought I was nuts to buy one of these instead of a regular baby bathtub. She changed her mind the first time I bathed him. Even as tiny as he was, I had no trouble giving him his first tub bath in this. Yes it's different, and yes it's better. I had several types of tubs for my first three children, now 15, 13 & 11. This is SO MUCH better! No squiming, slipping, sliding in the tub! less time keeping the baby from flopping and slipping, more time getting clean and having fun. This really does keep the baby in position, hands-free, and my son loves to lay in the water on the bather. I've never had a mildew problem, I just rinse it off, wring it out and hang it up. I keep mine hanging behind the shower curtain, so there's no bulky thing to store, which for me, is another plus. I can see using this well into the years to come, as he transitions into bathing in the big bathtub.
