Baby Products Reviews of Leachco Safer Bather Infant Bath Pad, Blue Fish

Customer Review: LOVE IT!!
Summary: 5 Stars

I did a lot of research on these tubs while I was pregnant because I know that bathtime, which is supposed to be a special, relaxing, time can be traumatic for babies. We used the Safer Bather from our daughter's first bath and it has been so awesome. She loves the bath and I completly attribute the success to the Safer Bather. We hang it every night and have had no problems with mildew. I also love that it doesn't add any more clutter like the big plastic tubs do. After it gets soaked with water, the weight holds it down to the bottom of the tub and it really does hold the warmth of the water. The only bad thing that I would say is that it requires a lot more water in the tub than the bath seats probably require-but that's coming from a stay at home mom trying to cut costs on everything. But that small problem is totally worth it to see your baby smile at you in the water!

I'm adding to this review now that my daughter is 11 months old because we're still using this! I put it in the back of the tub and a slip proof mat in the front (neither is large enough to cover the entire bottom). My girl moves all around the tub and doesn't slip at all. We still hang it every night and have had no problems with mildew. I washed it with bleach twice and the color didn't fade at all. This was the best $16 I've ever spent!

Customer Review: Our baby loves it!
Summary: 5 Stars

A friend recommended this bath tub to me and I am so glad I listened! Knowing that if your baby doesn't like bath time you're in for many miserable nights, I really wanted his first bath experience to be a good one! Right from his very first bath he was so content!! We put it in the sink and it absorbs the warm bath water, so he is nice and cozy - much better than shivering in a cold, hard plastic tub. We think he may be a little colicky in the evenings, but when we put him in his tub he instantly (I mean INSTANTLY) trades his cries for cooes. Of course, if it's a really bad night, he starts screaming again the minute we take him out of it, but most nights the bath does the trick! My friend also mentioned that when her baby started sitting up by himself she would sit him in the Safer Bather for extra support in the tub. We're not there yet, but I can see how it would prevent tipping! When bath time is over we just hang the tub in the shower and let it drip dry. On a practical mom's note - let's face it, poop happens - if there is a little poop action during his bath it comes right off with the spray hose on the sink. I was worried that it would absorb (since the bath is like a pillow), but the material it's made of doesn't absorb the unwanted poop! What more could you ask for?!

Customer Review: Great for our little baby
Summary: 5 Stars

The thing I had to bath our baby girl was one of the plastic tubs, which Elsie hated. She was always cramped in her old tub, and held onto herself for dear life, she didn't feel safe in it. It had these side slots, where the water would sit and she always got her legs caught in it. I had to constantly hold her up because she couldn't sit in it by herself, cause she'd roll to one side.

This safe bather is awesome. She can be in the warm water now, and it keeps her head out of the water. It's so much easier to bath her, and she just lounges in it. She doesn't grasp her body, so I know she feels safe in it, and I feel safer using this. She would constantly get her leg turned the wrong way in her hard plastic tub. But there's nothing to get caught up on with the safer bather. I also have both hands free to bath and soap her hair and body too, because I don't need to balance her with one hand anymore. It's easier to do bathtime, and she has even started splashing, so I know it's more enjoyable for her too! It's easy to just wring out and hand on the shower head when I'm done too. PLus it's machine washable so in case it starts smelling funky, I'll just throw it in the wash!

I would highly recommend this item. I love it so much.

Customer Review: Great for newborns!
Summary: 5 Stars

As a new mom, it can be a bit confusing when selecting items for your newborn! How the heck are you supposed to know what will work best when you have never done this before? So after my baby shower, I ended up with 3 bathing apparatuses. A infant to toddler tub, a big yellow bath sponge, and the safer bather. At first, I used the yellow sponge on top of a towel on the kitchen table for those sponge baths. Then, when the stump finally fell off, I tried using the sponge tucked inside of the infant tub, but it was a bit awkward and my son was not very comfy. Then, I took out my safer bather and decided to give it a go! Wow, no more screaming thru bathtime as I frantically try to bathe a slippery, angry baby! This was the first time my son relaxed and enjoyed his tub time, and I did too! What I did is filled up our bath tub with a few inches of water and then placed the pad in our own tub. I use enough water so that his body is sitting in it but because of the pillow his head was elevated out of the water. I think that the cushion is nice because it holds the water and keeps him warmer and is soft and conforms to his body. I hang it to dry after in the shower. Buy one of these! You may feel like you need to clean your own tub more often, but its worth it!

Customer Review: Great product for Babies and Parents
Summary: 5 Stars

This product is great. It is big enough that my baby will be able to use this until he is able to sit on his own. The top of the pillow is thicker than the bottom to prop up my baby's head. It is very cushiony and absorbent.

It is a great product because it eliminates the need for a baby bathtub. I run a little water in the regular bathtub and place the SaferBather in the water. It soaks up the warm water so my baby's back stays warm. I can then just cover him with a warm washcloth. With the other slings that come with a baby bathtub, they always felt cold and my first baby cried from being cold. When I am done with the bath, I squeeze the water out and hang it by the hanger to dry. It is really convenient and a space saver. We don't have a bulky baby bathtub taking up all of the counterspace!

It is also good for the newborn that still has the umbilical stump. This pillow is warm and soft. I placed a towel under it and gave my baby a spongebath. It absorbed the water from the washcloth.

I have used this product for about 4 months and haven't had any problems with mildew or a smell as some have commented. I wish that I had had this with my older baby. I have already bought 2 more for baby gifts!
