Customer Review: Bulky but so worth it!
Summary: 5 Stars

I love this pillow! I'm not sure why they chose to use the nursing image for the main picture, because it's obviously too bulky to be used for nursing, but it's perfect for sleeping!

I bought mine when I was in my first trimester, because I was having such a hard time sleeping yet was exhausted all the time. Prior to my pregnancy, I slept on a donut-type chiropractic pillow and at first was worried about this one being too flat for my head, but it's been awesome.

The very best part about it is the symmetrical aspect: you don't have to drag pillows with you when you turn over, so you're not waking up completely each time you change position, which means a more restful night (well, except for the potty breaks, of course.)

I know all the books say you're to sleep on your left side but I toss and turn a lot. Having support on both my front and back has been awesome. Plus, it's great to prop up the top end against the headboard and read, etc. It's very comfy!

In latter part of my pregnancy when heartburn became an issue, I slept with a flat pillow underneath the "U" part, to lift my head up slightly. It worked just fine and didn't hurt my neck at all.

FIT: We have a king-sized bed but I've used it on a queen-sized too and there's still enough room for me, the hubby and our dog in both beds. Cuddle time and sleep time just have to be separate is all but it's worth it for my comfort and my husband agrees. It would be too tight a fit in a double or full sized bed for two people, though, I fear.

SHAPE: I love the shape, especially as I've gotten bigger, the small "wings" on the inside help to support my weighty belly.

LENGTH: I'm short (5'2") but it would be nice if it were a little tiny bit longer. I have another little rice pillow that I sometimes stick down at the end and prop a foot on, if my ankles are swelling. But it's not necessary.

MATERIAL: The cover is cotton and not scratchy but I with they'd made the case a tiny bit bigger, as it's a tight fit and a hassle to change (though not impossible). Not a sticking point though.

I took the advice of a previous reviewer and cut open an old pillow case and looped it to the top portion so I don't have to change the entire case each time I change the bedding. That works great. Thanks for the idea. :)

Overall, the benefits far outweigh any negative aspects, so I'm giving it five stars. This pillow has been a lifesaver at ALL stages of my pregnancy thus far! And it's absolutely worth the price, hands-down.

Customer Review: Can't sleep without it!
Summary: 5 Stars

I purchased this pillow around 20 weeks pregnant with twins and have been using it for 2 weeks now.
The doctor insisted on no sleeping on my back, which was really hard for me to do. Sleeping on my sides was killing my hips and putting a lot of strain on my back no matter how many different pillows I had propped all around me. I'd sleep for an hour to two hours on my side until my hip was throbbing, then flip to the other side and spend a few minutes rearranging all the pillows....2 hours later I'd repeat the whole process. I was getting no sleep. I saw this and figured I would give it a try.
The first night I had it I only woke up 1 time during the night to flip!!!! It took a couple of nights of getting used to, but now it is essential to a full night's sleep for me. I tried to sleep without it last night and lasted about an hour.
I sleep with the U at the top, but I don't put my arm under it, I put my feather pillow on top of the U and lay my head and shoulders on top of the U. This props my shoulders/neck/head up and I don't get nasal congestion at night anymore.
I also took 2 king sized pillow cases and pulled them up over the "legs" of the pillow because I really don't see how you could ever get the case back on if you were to wash it, the case is a very snug contoured fit. The king sized pillow cases extend all the way up to the U and then my regular pillow sits on top of the U, so that part won't get dirty either.
I can sleep on either side without any hip pain all night long. I also can sleep partially on my side and partially on my back with this and it doesn't affect the artery going down the back because I haven't experienced any numbness or tingling in the hands/arms or any faintness or dizziness if I stand up quickly....that would always happen if I slept on my back without this pillow. I guess the leg of the pillow cushions the back and keeps you at an angle still so you aren't commpletely on your back.
When I sleep in this pillow I keep the legs pretty close together so that my belly and hip are fully on part of the leg, and my backside is also on a part of the leg. I think this must provide some extra cushion for the hip because I truly have had NO HIP PAIN with this pillow...unless the legs are too far apart and my hip is completely on the bed.
I would recommend this to any pregnant momma!!!

Customer Review: Great pillow-couldn't have made it without it
Summary: 4 Stars

I began having serious back and hip pain around my 6th month of pregnancy. I did a LOT of research on the web about which pregnancy pillow to purchase and finally decided on this one, based mainly on reviews. Now approaching my 9th month, there is no way I could have made it without this pillow! I am beginning to have back and hip pain again, and wake up several times in the night, but the pain and sleep would be so much worse without the pillow. It is easy to get out of; just lift the "leg" of the pillow and maneuver out of bed. It is still fluffy, just like the day it arrived. I do have a couple of problems with the pillow, minor problems. I am 5' 7". For my height, the pillow could be longer. The pillow fits between my knees provided I have them bent, but there is no support for my ankles. While I don't really need ankle support, it would be nice to have the option. The arm I am lying on has to be under the pillow. This took some getting used to, and created a sense of claustrophobia for a while until I got used to the sensation. Other comments: My husband (5' 9") is losing room each night as I grow bigger and, therefore, the pillow (my "nest" as he calls it) grows bigger. We have a queen size bed, and it has gotten to the point where he does not have enough room to sleep, so he has begun encroaching on the side of the body pillow next to him. This flattens the pillow, and I have begun getting a knee and elbow in the back while he is sleeping. As it is getting harder for me to breathe at night, I have had to add my pillow on top of the head portion of the body pillow to prop me up enough to get in air. I did not have to do that until recently. All and all, though, I highly recommend this pillow. The few problems I have had with it do not compare to the tremendous relief I have felt from it, and I would recommend this pillow to all pregnant women! I do not believe there is a "perfect" pregnancy pillow out there, but this comes close. I listed more negatives than positives because I always want to know the problems with products when I read reviews. The bottom line is this: There are a few problems, but problems worth dealing with in order to get such wonderful pain relief and improved sleep. This pillow is definitely worth it; spend the money and get sleep!

Customer Review: Great Body Pillow for Pregnancy (problems with cover of pillow)
Summary: 4 Stars

When I was in my fifth month of pregnancy and beginning to have difficulty sleeping, I went ahead and purchased this pillow - it was a toss up between this one and regular, one-sided one. I"m very glad I paid the extra $10 or so for this one. I'm 5'10' and although I was concerned that I may be too tall for the pillow, this is not the case. This pillow, I believe has made a world of difference. It's design is nice because you don't have to keep moving the pillow in the middle of the night when you change sides, and it is very comfortable. My hips still hurt a little in the morning, but when I tried sleeping without the pillow for a few hours one night, I really felt the aches and pains and I couldn't sleep - so the pillow is a godsend. I do recommend it. The only issue, like others mentioned is the cover is hard to clean and then put back and it does take up space in the bed. I have a king size bed and my husband still has plenty of space, so space isn't an issue with me. I think though that this is well worth it - enjoy the sleep before the baby comes.

Update: I'm now in my 9th month of pregnancy and still love this pillow. From hearing the stories from all the other women in the birthing classes, I know that I don't have any of the issues that they have sleeping. It supports your neck, back, stomach and hips. I've washed the cover numerous times and now find it easy to put back on, but the material isn't the best, as there is some fuzz balls on it now. But since I'll only be using it for another few days or so, it's worked great up to now for me.

Update: I've now used this pillow for my second pregnancy 20 months later. I bought a new cover for the pillow this time around as the old cover had pilled and was just no longer smooth. The pillow itself has worked well for me again and has really allowed me to sleep. Again, though, the cover pilled and has become uncomfortable - I'm due in 2 weeks, so the cover only lasts about 4 months before pilling and I can live with it for another few weeks. I also don't like the seam in the middle of the cover which can feel scratchy on your shoulders if you're tall like me, but it hasn't bothered me too much. I would still highly recommend this pillow and wouldn't be getting any sleep without it.

Customer Review: Love this pillow
Summary: 5 Stars

I am so glad I purchased this pillow, it has been wonderful! I had been using just a long pillow between my knees to help relieve discomfort during my pregnancy until I was about 6 months along, it was just too uncomfortable and I knew I needed something else. (Infact I was so desperate I paid for the next day shipping)

I searched online and found a few, including this one. I liked this one at first because it had two sides, you could just roll over instead of having to move the entire pillow every time (which is often!) What I didn't realize is how NICE the other side feels against your back! It completely "snuggles" around me, giving lots of support all around (I had no idea how important that was) It was worth every penny, and then some. I don't think I could sleep without it at this point.

My husband thinks I look silly, and is probably a little upset that he can't easily reach me in bed (it takes up my entire half of our cal king bed), but I find him cuddled up to the other side at night, he finds it comfy too. It's bulky, but so is having a bunch of pillows piled around you at night, and at least with this it's super easy to get comfortable again after getting up 5 times a night to go to the bathroom!

The only problem I can even think of is that I often find myself on my back during the night. Although I fall asleep on my side, there is something about the shape of this pillow, it just cradles you so nicely... I've never been a back sleeper, and wasn't until I got this pillow. So for anyone that is paranoid about sleeping on their back during pregnancy, you may find yourself on your back like I have. But it feels like you are floating, no pressure or weight, so I'm not concerned.

I have also used it sitting up with the legs wrapped around my back, which then gave me a pillow surface to work with.. I haven't been able to get very comfy on the couch, especially when I want to do something like write, knit, etc. so having the pillow top right there helps alot and I can see how you could use it like a boppy (?) when feeding a baby (although you'd have to set your baby down to get the pillow worked around you, so I don't know how well the pillow will work after pregnancy, but for now I love it!
