Baby Products Reviews of Lansinoh Lanolin 2 oz Hygienic TubeCustomer Review: awful, sticky and useless Summary: 1 StarsI got sucked into the hype of this because of all the glowing reviews. Bought this to repair my damaged/dry/cracking skin. Personally, to me it feels like sticky, tacky glue and didn't repair my skin at all. I'm going back to Bag Balm!
Customer Review: Decent but found a better product for my needs. Summary: 2 StarsTHE GOOD
*Relieves soreness and tenderness::
*A little goes a long way::
THE BAD
*Sticky, messy, thick, and goopy:: is not easily absorbed by the skin.
*Stains clothes:: left a permanent "oily" stain on a couple of my blouses.
*$4 more expensive than a brand I like better.
OVERALL
*I now use Gerber Breast therapy instead. It's very light in texture and in my experience, just as effective as Lansinoh brand. My skin absorbs the balm and it doesn't stain my clothes. AND it's up to $4 cheaper than Lansinoh brand depending on where I buy it.
Customer Review: R.N. Mom Summary: 5 StarsFrom personal and professional experience, I am aware of the value of lanolin to promote successful breast feeding. However, I want to let people know what a great product this is to prevent dry, chapped lips. I have used it for years by applying it to my lips at night. When my son, who works outside year round, complained of his problem with chapped lips from exposure to sun and wind, I suggested he try this product. He loves it and feels that it is the most effective product he has used to prevent chapped lips.
Customer Review: Useful in the early days. Summary: 5 StarsThis was very useful in my early days of breast-feeding. I used it for the first week or two when my breasts were under great stress from a hungry little munchkin. It helped with the blisters and the cracks. After the first two weeks or so it was irrelevant though. I would recommend the smallest tube you can buy and then see.
Customer Review: also the best for dry, chapped lips! Summary: 5 StarsI know that this product currently comes advertised as a product for breastfeeding mothers, but 20 years ago it was considered a much more versatile product, good for chapped lips, hands, and anything else that is very dry. I have chronic chapped lips, and Lanolin is the ONLY product that makes them heal correctly - without my becoming addicted to the cream (as they do with Blistex, Carmex, etc). But you should know that Lanolin feels icky and sticky when you put it on. You use it because it need it, not because you like the way it feels, smells, or tastes (though now, I've gotten used to it and even like it).
