This was the first Lamaze product that we bought for our 5+ month old son. This toy is quite impressive. Each wing is it's own visual adventure and offers a unique scheme for your child to focus on. Jaques also has a different black and white design on the back of each wing. His wings have gift wrapping paper (or something similar) inside each of his wings which provides a loud crunching sound whenever my little guy grabs him. The bottom of the toy is flat and weighted so you can sit him up if desired. Overall I have been very pleased with the design and quality of this toy. My wife and I would highly recommend Jacques to anyone and will definitely be trying out more Lamaze products in the future!Customer Review: Fabulous toy!

I got this for my little man when he was 4 months old and at the time, he much preferred his link-a-rings to this toy. He wasn't coordinated enough or strong enough to manipulate something this large in his hands. Still, he would stare at Jacques in fascination, but would get frustrated when he would try to chew on him. Fast forward 2 months and Jacques became my little guy's favorite toy. Now he could grasp and turn Jacques and easily get his crinkly wings into his mouth. He loved when I would make Jacques "kiss" him. He never tired of staring at Jacques, but if his attention wavered I could just flip Jacques over and my son was interested all over again! This is a great toy!Customer Review: Bright & Colorful

Jacques is cute, colorful, soft and has shaker beads inside him, a squeaker
puff ball on his left wing, a reflective mirror that distorts
on his right wing and crinkly sounding material on his wings.
His BIG eyes are embroidered. He has ribbon bits around a purple soft
corduroy puff ball on his left wing. His backside is black & white
polka dot, squares, wavy lines and small starburst prints.
I'm happy with this purchase and 2 other Lamaze toys on Amazon, but
plan to buy a variety of toys to stimulate my grandson's senses when he is born in May 08.

This toy was one of the first that our baby liked as an infant. So much, in fact, that I kept it stored away because he helped us through many car rides and dinners out. We consider Jacques to be part of the family, even though he's in a storage box, now. He kept the baby's attention and she loved playing with his "crinkle" wings and sucking on his face. Other similar toys just didn't cut the muster compared to Jacques. He was her first love. I thought I'd try the other Lamaze toys, which are similar to Jacques...I think I had the Moose and something else, but she didn't care for them. Something about Jacques was mysterious and intruiging to our infant.Customer Review: 4 month grandson

This toy has too many stiff / hard edges for my 4 month-old grandson. He is quite strong and swings his toy-filled hands hard and fast. He cried when hit by a much smaller 5 month-old who accidently swung her hand and hit him in the face, so he would hurt himself with this toy. Although it has a lot of colors and designs, it does not have any animation to entertain him. It does not have a very loud rattle, the tags are too small, the feather sections have stiff/hard inserts and not much area to grab. He needs no help with focusing and loses interests if he does not see the activity in the room or car; this toy must be for newborns, not 4 months and up.
